Andrew Norwell Impresses

You all know I have been a Norwell believer since the first day of camp. When Trai Turner went down, it was time for Norwell to step up and show he belongs in the NFL. This is not an opportunity every rookie UDFA gets.

I feel Norwell did pretty well. He was instrumental in a Cam Newton rushing first down and provided adequate protection.

Norwell showed a mean streak when he was bull rushed by 305lb veteran defensive tackle Mike Daniels.

Norwell stood him up and matched his hands to the face. Daniels went no where.

While playing left guard, Norwell fended off Packers DT Mike Pennell until Panther center Folkerts had a handle on him.

Notice Norwell is heads up and eyes looking for the next threat to the quarterback. That threat came in the form of a blitzing Clay Matthews. Nowell had recognition and foot speed to plug that gap and stop Matthews' progress.

Yes, these are just a couple of play examples and the jury is far from in on Norwell. But if this game is any indication Panthers fans should be excited about this young offensive line prospect.

Chandler looked the weakest today in my opinion. Several times it was just incredible how lost he looked.

Lack of experience.

Fans love player position switches, but the reality is more often than not they don't work out all that well.

A lot of times, a guy who might not be quite as athletic but understands how to play the position will do better than the athletic guy you moved there who hadn't done it before.

    • there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.  it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying
    • I'd actually like to see Cherelus get a fair shot to win the job in camp. Wallace is decent in drop zone coverage, but he gets abused in the play action game and is often times out of position in the run game. It might just be me, but I swear every time I watch Wallace play, I see multiple plays a game were it looks like he's just trying to be blocked. Watching Cherelus last year he at least looked like he was trying to hit someone on every play. Wallace plays like a LB who doesn't trust what he sees and it makes him passive and cautious versus Cherelus who regardless of if his decision is right or wrong goes at it 100%.
    • Agreed.  Hasn’t happened to me either, but I feel very strongly about it.  That’s not just one of the worst things a woman could do to a man, it’s a power inherent to only women and is one of the worst things a HUMAN being can do to another.  A man can’t “hide” a pregnancy or maternity.  It’s impossible.  And that sucks for anyone that has to go through that. I always got a weird vibe off her and just found her very unlikeable.  Annoying even.  I’ve always been good at reading people and there was just something about her to me that was off-putting, somewhere under the surface.  And here we are…  she is despicable.
