R.R: " no personal changes despite big loss"

If RR really wanted to shake things up and show the team he's ready for this bullshit to end, he'd find some sacrificial lamb on this team (I'm looking at you, DeCoud...) and FIRE THEM. Show the team this crap better end, right now, or heads will roll.

Why DeCoud? Harper before him by a long shot.

I think all these posts about Rivera's job are relevant.  He made his living on coaching top defenses, and finally was able to land a job with us as head coach.  So if this is what we are getting with defense, he really does need to go.  Probably won't happen, unless we continue to get blown out on a weekly basis.

Something needs to change.  I am not a football guru, maybe someone on here can correct me if I am wrong; has anyone noticed our DE's all fly up the field on a pass or run.  They do not stay "flat" or on a line when playing the run.  Several times I have seen them run straight up the field and leave a huge lane for the rbs and cut back chances for them because the backside DE is not staying on a line.  Also, during pass situations, same thing happens.  Instead ofcoming at an angle and collapse the pocket, they head up field and the qb can run or has another second to throw.  I have notice CJ do this and he never used to do that.  That's why he was so good because he used fundamentals.  Maybe I am wrong but that's what I see.

My point is, that's all on coaching.  If CJ never used to do that, something is up.  Has anyone else noticed this?

What kind of personal changes would he make? Switch to boxers instead of tighty whities on game day?

He might want to consider some personnel changes though.

LOL. I saw that title all day long as I waited and perused the Huddle during several appointments and thought to myself, "Why in the hell would Rivera want to make personal changes?"  It finally dawned on me that the OP meant "personnel" changes, which is the only reason I opened the thread.

I have a hard time piling on blame directed to the secondary when there is no consistent pass rush.

But there nothing  a pass rush can do if the offense is throwing quick passes for 2 yards and ball carriers taking them for 30 yard runs. Its the back sevens job to make those plays

Yeah CJ and Addison run these huge arcs around the tackles and the QB or running back can just step up in the opening.  Who knew Hardy was so much more fundamentally sound than CJ?
