We SHOULD win the NFC South

Based on how our division is playing, and looking at the upcoming schedule for the Falcons and the Saints, we should win the division.  Remember, records are reset to 0-0 in the playoffs.  Look at the 7-9 Seahawk team that won their playoff game.  Have we looked great this season?  No, but we still have a shot to stay in the mix and get better as we go.

Here is a look at the rest of the Panthers, Falcons, and Saints games (Bucs are clearly still rebuilding so not including them).  Every team highlighted in Bold are currently .500 and below:

Panthers          Falcons          Saints

Seahawks       Lions (UK)      Packers

Saints             BYE                @Panthers

@Eagles         @Bucs           49ers

Falcons         @Panthers      Bengals

BYE                 Browns          Ravens

@Vikings        Cardinals        @Steelers

@Saints         @Packers        Panthers

Bucs               Steelers          @Bears

Browns           @Saints         Falcons

@Falcons       Panthers         @Bucs

The fact that we have a 1.5 game lead in the division, and the fact that our schedule doesn't look nearly as bad for the second half of the year, we should be able to maintain a lead.  I still think we can go 9-6-1 or 8-7-1 and take the division for a Home Playoff Game.

we're gonna get smoked by some wildcard team in the playoffs though

Cowboys, Lions, Packers, Cardinals and 49ers will be the non-NFCS playoff teams. If we win the division I would be worried going against 3 of those teams, Cowboys, Lions and Packers. Cards and 49ers we can beat because their QBs suck. Maybe Lions too but we aren't the same team that handled the Lions week 2. I see us going 10-5-1 losing to the Saints in NO and either Seattle or Philly. Philly is not as good a team as their record suggests and I think we could win that one.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
