Gameplan for Wilson?

Contained pass rush. Give him no reason to leave the pocket.

He wants to leave the pocket. Outside of the pocket he is a good QB....inside meh.

But Luke, TD and our DTs have to show up and stop Lynch to make it work

actually the game plan should be simple.  Dline needs to get their hands up on every passing down.  Wilson is 5-11.  We obviously wont be able to get to wilson with our pass rush, so just get you hands up.  I guarantee they will alter a few passes and make it rough for wilson, and possible get an interception or two.

More times than not,  the play doesn't start when the ball is snapped...    it really starts when he starts rolling out to his right side...     That roll out normally sucks in defenders and his WRs finish their routes then...it's why you always see his WRs wide ass open without a defender around them for 10-15 yards nearly every single passing play.

Just with the basics...... would play the spy game.    With Thomas Davis....and be strict with the rest of the defense...  letting them know to stay on their assignments even when they see Wilson roll out and threaten to run.

Honestly don't know. He played us awesomely last year when we actually had a fantastic defense.

He also got lucky. Like when he blindly would throw up balls on 3rd in long not even looking and it would land on the hands of a WR

    • Nope Still missing it. Let's try this a different way... You have two quarterbacks from schools that ran the same kind of offense - maybe even two from the same school - on a given team (not necessarily the Panthers). One is designated the starter while the other is named the backup. Why?
    • yeah, pretty sure boss.....when things match and fit in the NFL.....the results then show it.  and when they don't, well, the results show that as well.  Bryce doesn't fit.   *but I get why late season and wants to argue with everyone Mr. Scot has also turned into a please don't talk to me about stats guy as well.  Given, the stats that reflect offensive productivity work against all your present arguments.
    • Yeeeah...stats and rankings have zero to do with a discussion of scheme and skill set match. Maybe look up definitions of style vs ability and see if that helps. At this point, you've basically had three different people explain to you where you're wrong, but rather than addressing any of those statements, you're just resorting to straight deflection.  You don't get it. Either that or you're acting like you don't get it so that you can avoid the discussion because it's not going well for you. (that wouldn't surprise me either) 😄 Sme result either way, I suppose.
