Too much blame going Rivera's way for what's going wrong with the season, and not enough of holding Gettleman accountable.

Two things pretty much every NFL head coach is given full control over: Their staff and the depth chart.

 

GMs - Gettleman included - have no more say on these things than they do when time outs are called on game day.

Then we did it again the following year with Edmund Kugbila. Why not take a known D1 talent over a risky D3 prospect...especially in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Being a Panthers and Hornets fan is so tormenting. We consistently miss out on talent because we think we see something no one else sees (see Biyombo, Bismack).

Give me guys that have played against real competition in college. fug wasting time and picks developing some D2A QB to be a receiver or some UDFA defensive tackle to be an OT. poo pisses me off.

When we brought Mike Wahle in, in 2005, we had a pretty revamped Oline that season as well. thing is, they had more talent as well. Wahle stated how much work it was to get the Oline to gel. To get used to the foot placement of the person next to you. to get their tendencies down and really start to work as one solid unit.This was in a preseason interview.

Personally, I think the fact that there wasn't a "decided" position for Bell or Chandler early in training camp has hindered the Oline in that process Wahle was talking about. Since then, injuries have been an issue as well. So there's not much in the "One Solid Unit" when the time together keeps getting changed up.

 

We all knew it'd take time to get the line to be a unit. But, talent level lacking, and cohesion lacking as well, I hope that the team sets positions and early and lets the line work together in the right positions. Instead of having players learn new positions all Mini camp, and early training camp ad when the first game comes up, only then make a decision on who's gonna play where.

My guess is that Norwell is the type of player who looks much better in games than he does in practice.

 

I am not bashing the guy, but it is fairly obvious he is not exactly devoted to the weight room.

 

I would not doubt that he loafs a little in practice, but has a nasty disposition and really starts to shine when actual completion sets in.

 

How could you possibly know that? Just because he's fat?

How could you possibly know that? Just because he's fat?

 

The main reason I know he is not devoted in the weight room is that he only did 22 reps of the 225 lb bench press at the NFL combine. That is terrible for an offensive lineman. That doesn't mean he can't play, of course.
