Rivera's conference

Ruff

Recommended Posts

Last year, we lost to Seattle with a score of 7-12. We were knocking on the door for the go-ahead score, but lost after a Deangelo Williams fumble.

Rivera said it wasn't Deangelo's fault, the entire team made mistakes, we played poorly, it was a team effort.

This year, we lost to Seattle with a score of 13-9. We were knocking on the door for the go-ahead score, and KB dropped a pass.

Rivera says it's KB's fault.

I was really mad about the KB drop, considering Cam was getting lambasted here yesterday for not winning the game. It's true, KB catches that and it changes the game completely. That being said, I also believe that our coaching staff would've immediately went into full on conservative mode and lost it anyway.

KB is awesome, but he has way too many drops. The bomb he caught was fairly meaningless, the TD was needed.

Regardless, I dont have a lot of patience with Ron or what he has to say.

His modus operandi of calling out the better players on the team baffles me. I get what he's saying that KB cannot be dropping those balls but he's a rookie and we can't put that much pressure on him. Where are the vets to step up?

On the TD that Kelvin dropped, Cotch was much more open and on a much easier route to score the TD and Cam totally missed him.

I agree I am a little worried about the drops, but we really won't be able to see if its a trend until next year.

I'm not sure what he could have said to appease you people. He mentions, in passing, and as a matter of fast, that a pass in the end zone was dropped. You guys jump on him. He says that he supported the play calling in the red zone. You guys jump on him.

If he had not mentioned the pass, and said that he didn't agree with the play-calling, you guys would have jumped on him.

Bottom line, they didn't pass on every play at the goal line. Step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. Chud, on the other hand, is rolling in his.....modest Indiana home.

KB has some drops, but he also catches a lot of balls that he really has no business catching.  He had a couple of those yesterday.  Smitty was kind of that same way.  He'd drop some when he was wide ass open because he was already thinking about what he was going to do after the catch.  Gotta take the good with the bad.  Hopefully it's something KB will improve upon.

Even if he makes that catch, we're tied and the game is going to OT with Seattle having all the momentum.  We're gonna lose anyway.

The bottom line is that we left way too many points on the field in the first half.  We absolutely dominated that half of football, but it didn't translate to the scoreboard.  That's why we lost that game.  You can't be that dominant against a good team and not create separation on the scoreboard.  Gotta capitalize on those opportunities.
