This offense is beyond pathetic. I went from blaming Shula to now thinking that some of this may fall on Cam forcing throws. He is regressing as a QB and I'm thinking Dorsey needs some accountability as well. Rivera has lost any control of this team that he had by allowing those two to run this offense and ruin a promising young QB. I fear that the damage may be too much to overcome.

I can blame Harper and Cason everyday and twice on Sunday.

Yeah but the rest of the defense played extremely well comparatively. The DL played lights out and really stepped up. We held the saints for almost the first half, that should be plenty of time to at least get a lead.

As for Cam not checking down.. So is that something that can be fixed or are we gonna just have to deal with it?

Until they give Cam some speed or guys with the ability to pick up a yard after the catch I'm not going to blame him for not giving it to these underneath guys.

seriously?

the purpose of underneath routes isn't to pick up yac. it's to pick up yards to help move the chains and put the offense in 3rd and manageable situations.

if an underneath route turns into a big play, it's because the defense made a mistake.

I am stating to feel the same way.  I am beyond frustrated at this organisation.  I am angry.

Playmakers.

This also goes back to Cam feeling like he needs to do everything on every play. If Cam felt comfortable and confident in and around this offense I'd like to think he'd feel better about picking up a couple and playing for the next down. Cam doesn't have that luxury though, every play is an adventure out there from the OL to the WR's.

throwing to the underneath routes also helps a suspect oline and gets receivers open downfield.

the offense has a lot wrong with it overall, but there are little things that a qb can do to help it.

It is. Lots of open players underneath last night.

Was saying this in the game thread. He had open players underneath all night, but instead was pressing and trying to force a big play down field.

Again it goes back to coaching. If we can see that on the television, I would surely hope that Rivera and Shula can see it. Why aren't they communicating that to him? Or if they are, why isn't he listening?

We all saw what Cam is capable of last year. This year he has been forcing things for a multitude of reasons. If we get him WRs that can catch and an online that can at least pass protect without us having to keep extra guys in to help he will be fine.

    • I'm not sure that in a fair QB competition that Young would beat out Jones.
    • That's why I said stats aside. I lived in CO during Allen's college career and didn't have kids at the time so I watched most of his games. Bruh, I'm telling you. Balls just spraying all over the place. The type of throws where you're honestly trying to figure out who he was even trying to throw that one too. It was crazy. Richardson was inaccurate in college but at least you could tell who he was trying to throw it too. He threw a lot of early in the game Cam Newton type balls where it seemed like he was just a little too amped up and everything was a few feet high. Richardson's misses looked like they were maybe fixable with working on his footwork, release, etc. Josh Allen's misses looked like "ain't no way you're fixin' that poo, dude has a cannon equipped with no sights". LOL Huge props to the Bills for evaluating him as fixable and indeed fixing him.
