Just ripped one off on Fanspeak real quick:

1. Jaelen Strong WR

2. Devin Smith WR

3. Kevin Johnson CB

4. Ifo Ekpre-Olomu CB

5. Corey Crawford DE

6. Tyler Varga FB

7. Davis Tull OLB

Obviously missed out big time on tackles. Didn't want to reach and after the first couple rounds the value was too good elsewhere. That said, our corner situation and WR situation would be set for many years and loaded.

  • 2 weeks later...

These things are so stupid. I said it last year. They have guys who'll be sure first rounders go in the third.

I wonder if there was even one single simulated draft that was spot on. that would be neat to know.

Last season my best was KB in the first and I don't think I ever had more than 1 of our picks correctly.

First one of these in a few weeks, I use fanspeak's on the clock with the composite big board.  There was some silliness, like Breshad Perriman being available in the 4th and DJ Humphries available in the 6th but overall it was alright:

25: R1P25
OT ANDRUS PEAT
STANFORD
57: R2P25
WR DORIAL GREEN-BECKHAM
OKLAHOMA
89: R3P25
RB JAY AJAYI
BOISE STATE
121: R4P25
OLB JORDAN HICKS
TEXAS
153: R5P25
CB QUANDRE DIGGS
TEXAS
185: R6P25
C SHAQUILLE MASON
GEORGIA TECH
217: R7P25
OLB DAVIS TULL
CHATTANOOGA

Now I know there's no way as long as JR owns this team will we take a chance on a guy like DGB, but holy poo this would be an awesome draft.

For my second run I wanted to see how the chips would fall if I went WR in the first.  Used Draftek's board this time.  Had to make a difficult call in the 3rd when Ameer Abdullah and Ogbuehi were both available.  Went with my head instead of my heart.  Also, despite potentially causing a logjam at WR I just couldn't pass up Hardy in the 4th.

25: R1P25
WR JAELEN STRONG
ARIZONA ST
57: R2P25
CB JALEN COLLINS
LSU
89: R3P25
OT CEDRIC OGBUEHI
TEXAS A&M
121: R4P25
WR JUSTIN HARDY
EAST CAROLINA
153: R5P25
RB JAVORIUS ALLEN
USC
185: R6P25
OT TYRUS THOMPSON
OKLAHOMA
217: R7P25
CB DESHAZOR EVERETT
TEXAS A&M

Another draft I'd be exceptionally pleased with.  Right after I made the last pick I saw Jordan Hicks, OLB from Texas was still available, I would have picked him if I noticed.  Not a big deal either way.
