and a win today still might not save his job.  Expect him to pull out every trick he's got.

The Atlanta Falcons have hired the search firm Korn Ferry to identify head-coaching candidates in the event the team makes a head-coaching change, league sources told ESPN.

Current coach Mike Smith was hired in 2008 after serving as the Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator from 2003-07.

The Falcons, 6-9 this season, can win the NFC South and host a playoff game if they beat the Panthers on Sunday. They will miss the playoffs with a loss.

Smith was asked Monday if the regular-season finale could decide his future.

"I know that that's a subject that everybody wants to talk about and I said, I don't know four or five weeks ago -- I hope this is the last time that I have to answer it -- I'm going to prepare just like I've done for the seven years that I've been here," Smith said. "My focus is on winning football games and winning the next football game. And I'm going to continue to do that until Arthur Blank tells me differently."

    • You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB?   bruh
    • Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.🤔) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner.  I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
    • And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for.    Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
