We only beat one team with a winning record this season

I guess the real question here is whether or not the folks that have made up their minds that we are a poor team would change their minds and acknowledge that the improvements made during the season have evolved this into a squad worthy of being in the playoffs.

explain how we are worthy to be in the playoffs after only beating one team with a winning record and finishing with a losing record ourselves

Because we won the division and they automatically get a home game.  You can argue you don't think it is right but they are the rules and we just played by them. If the rules change then you have a point.  Until then you don't.

Didn't your momma teach you that life is not fair and you have to play by the rules whether you like them or not?

What negative people forget is that the team that wins the super Bowl is the one that is playing best at the end of the season not how they played in October or November.  We may have been a poor team then but I doubt that the Saints, Browns, Tampa or Atlanta would agree we are now..

Why people reply to Opening Post like this is beyond me. This guy wanted to lose for draft position. Now that we busted his belief now he wants to bash the victory.

We all know that the Panthers are a totally different team than the team that got stomped by Baltimore, Philly, Pittsburgh and GB. While we may lose to them again I can bet it will be a totally different score.

Let him have his rant. Leave it alone and it will drop off the main page.

Yeah I know I bumped it up. lol but I had to say it.

i would think the Saints, Browns, Bucs, and Falcons all agree we aren't a good team. They also know they are even worse tho

The Falcons lost their last 6 games except to the lousy Saints and now-lousy Cardinals (.333 win pct over last 6 weeks). And like us, the Falcons also recently stomped the even more-lousy Saints, who got blown out by everyone the last 4 weeks except for the 5-11 Bears and the 2-14 Bucs (who the Saints only beat by 3)

Other than beating those two lousy teams, we got to 4-0 over our last 4 by only beating the god-awful Bucs 19-17 in BOA, and only beating the lousy Browns 17-13 in BOA.

I guess we should have lost then. That's what good teams would do.

Based on the last few weeks performance you can add a bunch of others to that list.  Once the playoffs begin it is a whole new ballgame and right now I like where we are.

It's all about how good you are now. Carolina is on a 4 game winning streak and playing improved defense and they offensive line and running game have both improved dramatically. There's less pressure on Cam and we won in a blowout with him only throwing 16 passes on Sunday.

Also our opponents have suffered massive injuries and are having self-destructive issues.

And there's nothing wrong with 7 wins. People always knocked fox for the 7-9 and 8-8 years. Those records indicate a competitive football team that could've been playoff worthy with a few different circumstances. All you can do is give yourself a chance by competing and the Panthers did that and they now have a home game against an extremely vulnerable Cards team.
