We could be in the middle of our second offseason week...

Yeah, having a chance is awesome and I couldn't have asked for a better time last Saturday at that game.

Just thinking the same thing.

That's what fans who bitch and moan constantly don't understand. The fun is in the journey. Those memories last.

That said.... I am ready for some more Saturday. A win there would be the single most exciting thing for Panthers fans since what, 2005? Almost a decade.

It's really incredible considering after thanksgiving weekend we had just been crushed by Minnesota and sat at 3-8-1, with no hope in sight.

I'm still not 100% sold on Rivera. If we win the SB, ok. But...

Too many dumb mistakes and lack of adjustments.

Why did it take so long to make changes to the offensive line?

Why did Shula not run more no huddle prior to the Saints game?

I love that it's a Saturday night game too, not some afternoon bull poo.

The world will be watching. We are so freaking due for a great showing in prime time.

I was one of the ones looking forward to a high draft pick and new HC. That was before our winning streak. Who could have predicted the 180 this team made? We look like actual contenders. It's crazy and I'm so much happier with this than a draft pick and HC search.

I think the Seahawks are in for a rude awakening. Our team wants it.

    • What's wrong with Damien Lewis? He played pretty well last year.
    • Official NFL Cuts Tracker Deadline for roster cuts is Tuesday, August 26th. At this moment (Friday, August 22nd) the only interesting names I see are... K Caden Davis (BUF) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (NO) LB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) Abdullah, St. Brown, Peoples-Jones I don't exactly think we should cut anybody for but it was just interesting seeing those names. Khaleke Hudson was on the Panthers' practice squad last year I believe and might have even gotten called up? And of course, Caden Davis just because of the question mark at kicker this season for the team.
    • I'll say 6/10. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole. For all the hype surrounding Sanders/Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
