Would you take Peyton Manning as a first year OC?

The talking heads of the media has been throwing around an idea about Peyton potentially retiring this year. I don't know if you would want to be a coach or not, but if he decided to become an offensive coordinator would you want to bring him in to replace Shula?

I say yes.

In B4 Gary Busey would be a better coach than Shula.

In theory...absolutely. Is there anyone who is better prepared or understands his opponent more than Peyton? That's very hard to argue against. However, I think you'd have to have a very good QB coach because I haven't seen or heard about Peyton having the ability to develop a quarterback's skills. You never hear about his backups saying how great he's mentored or helped them. Think about it, no back up of PM's has been of note. The Colt's didn't even have a backup plan for Peyton's departure until they fell into a lot of Luck.

I don't know if PM has that in him to teach or help a lesser QB, but would I want him calling plays? No doubt.

    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
