Let's talk about Fozzy...

Stout, fast and takes care of the ball. He's a north south runner with great balance and is aggressive on kickoff returns.

He was solid this season and I really like his cuts and the way he gets extra yards when he gets hit early.

There is no reason why he can't be our designated backup to Stewart. I'm a big fan and think he could be a factor when Stewart is on the sideline.

We don't need to draft another RB outside of UDFA with fozzy on the roster. I'm a big fan and think he is ready for Williams carries of DLo is a June 1st cut.

I am not contradicting you, but the only thing I would need to go back and review before making a statement like this is his blocking.  We don't think about it that much, but it is very important, especially here.

If that checks out, I am totally on board.  Any insights to that part of his game (I can't remember a thing) are appreciated.

RBs are not a big priority in drafts anymore. I would imagen we just plug and play with FAs. Grab some UDFAs after the draft.

Likely can find cheaper in better RBs in the draft though....

You can find good RBs in mid to late round nowadays....much harder to find quality late at other spots

I said this in 2010 when Hurney thought we had AP and a young Barry Sanders in the backfield.

I would never sign a RB to a second contract.  Rarely do you get your money's worth.

They start declining (I have presented charts that illustrate this) between ages 26 and 27.

Invest in the OL and the RBs get better.

That is how I would do it.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
