If he can quit doing stupid poo on the field, he will be our version of Sherman. I wish he'd cut down on the boneheaded poo he does though, that pisses me off sometimes and it isn't even that funny.

I'd say he already has cut down from prior seasons, so that should continue.

To be fair though, top cornerbacks have a rep for being a little 'out there'.

What did he do at all last season that was boneheaded?

Oh, he still has little control of his emotions and ability to understand the impact of his actions in key moments.

He was saved from himself numerous times this season.

He is still a bonehead

Helmet off penalty in the playoffs, but didn't cost us anything. Fumbled that interception runback, which did cost us. A few other minor incidents...

He has his moments, but fewer than before and not at a disproportionate level, so I'm fine with him.

He's eccentric, but not a head case.

RR: SS

Collins at 25 could be in play. That's about where Dix went last year.

I want him soooooo bad. Highly doubt he falls all the way to 25 though. Lot of teams before us that need safeties, and he's probably the only one worth a 1st or 2nd round pick.

Forgot about the helmet off penalty but that was kind of bullsh*t since he put it back on before they even threw the flag and it's really not a big deal at all. The fumble was bad but I wouldn't call it boneheaded in the way that others here are. He was getting yards that our offense would probably have had a tougher time getting. Just didn't know how to securely hold the ball while running with it since he rarely has it in his hands. Just had to learn. And actually when it got stripped he had 2 hands on it, the WR just made an excellent play. I can't think of any other incidents at all. People  blow his mistakes way out of proportion.

    • If we lose tomorrow we’d have to sweep the Bucs in order to get into the playoffs. With a loss tomorrow the Bucs would then hold the tie breaker if we finished tied If we can’t split with NO then we sure as hell not sweeping Tampa It’s win or go home tomorrow in my eyes  Biggest game since 2017 playoff game imo
    • Grok AI: No, there are no credible reports that the Carolina Hurricanes offered Jake Guentzel the same contract terms as Tampa Bay (7 years, $63 million total, $9 million AAV) before he signed with the Lightning. Reliable sources, including The Athletic, consistently reported that Carolina’s offer during negotiations was an eight-year deal worth $64 million ($8 million AAV). Guentzel did not accept it promptly, leading the Hurricanes to trade his negotiating rights to Tampa Bay on June 30, 2024, for a 2025 third-round pick. He then quickly signed the 7x$9M deal with the Lightning on July 1, 2024. Guentzel himself later reflected (in 2025 interviews) that staying in Carolina was his initial preference, but negotiations stalled and “didn’t work out,” with Tampa’s opportunity becoming a “no-brainer.” No reports from outlets like ESPN, NHL.com, or insiders (e.g., Elliotte Friedman, Pierre LeBrun, Frank Seravalli) indicate Carolina ever matched or offered the Lightning’s exact terms—total money, AAV, or length. The extra year was Carolina’s key advantage, but they reportedly stuck closer to $8M AAV and moved on when Guentzel explored options.
