What Color is the Dress?

Okay, so this picture has been making the rounds on the Interwebs today.

 

 

Basically, there is a huge division on what colors people see when they see the dress, and they're radically different. So I put the question to all of you: Do you see Blue and Black? Or are you wrong and generally suck at life?

That's actually pretty funny considering your signature.

 

But as for the dress, yeah, it's blue and black in real life:

 

 

That's a picture of the actual dress without any sort of lighting effects.

 

It's an optical illusion created by their minds to compensate for the contrast of the bright light in the background and somehow has some perceiving it as white and gold.  Apparently, from my understanding, it's their minds trying to fill in blanks that aren't actually there.

 

But as for the the original picture, I don't know how any of you fugers are seeing white/gold or black/blue.  You take a sample from the actual picture as projected from your computer monitor and it's lavender/brown:

But yeah, what's surprising is that world-wide, something like 75% of the viewers fall for the illusion and see white/gold. Pretty interesting.

I asked people at work this today with 5-3 saying white and gold.

 

I never saw it as anything other than black and blue and wont even begin to understand how some people's brain interpret it as white and gold.

i got stuck at mcdonalds early this morning waiting for the roads to thaw out a little and watched what they had on tv...the today show. first time i had watched anything like that in years, and they were talking about this being the big discussion and how seriously people were taking this debate.

 

it makes me thankful for every moment i seperate myself from social media.

 

it's unbelieveable how dumb people can be.
