Bad friend

Question for you guys: if a supposed friend is constantly breaking plans with me, standing me up, but claims that she wants to get together soon, does she hate me? It's like she is purposely trying to make me mad and hurt my feelings. I shouldn't care, but it just pisses me off. This is why I don't have many girl friends....

Call her out on it, be honest with people. Tell them that you've noticed they may not have time in their life for you right now and that's ok, but you don't have time to be running in circles. Take a break or tell them no the next few times they want to meet if they are persistent and tell them why you're declining.

When you think they're sincere or apologize give them a chance to come back into your life. If you are stood up or cancelled on at that point wish them the best in life after reminding them you just don't have time for games, then simply cut ties with them for good.

That's what I would do...it's hard to know what to do if you don't know why what's happening is happening. And you simply cannot know that without being honest. You could ask her why she is so flakey too, if you don't already know. Could be something serious going on, you never know.

my wife had a friend a few years ago who was jerking her around like that-making plans and not following through, standing her up, being awkward, etc.  her behavior just kind of inexplicably changed over night.  she was still friendly and bordering on flirty with me which didn't sit well with my wife naturally.  it seemed like she was trying to play head games and it slowly started to boil over.

my wife lost her patience, there was an eventual confrontation which the friend did not take well at all, and that was the last of it.  all i learned from it was that i don't understand female social dynamics at all and i just need to worry about keeping the cars running and the yard maintained.

I hope you don't have daughters. I'm currently in the middle of a hormonal Fukoshima with two teen girls and a wife. If i had no sports or access to power tools i may have become a James Bond super villain.

I invited her and her son to my daughter's birthday party at Monkey Joe's. She said she was coming and even went so far as to call and ask me what she wanted as a gift. I get a text from her while I'm at the birthday party saying she's getting her taxes done and can't make it. It infuriates me, not only because it was after the party started, but I paid for her child and it was like the millionth time she's cancelled. The way she did it and the excuse she gave seemed so lame and like a blatant attempt at being hurtful. It worked.

Here my opinion,  Friends come and go but true friends last a lifetime.  Ok after the Hallmark card, If she doesn't want to waste her time being your friend move on their are other people in the world that would make better friends.

    • That may be true but not having a competent and talented safety is what let Stafford cook us down the field in almost less than 1 minute and bouncing us out the playoffs.  Scott is a liability in each level of the game IMO and a versatile player at that position can completely change the look of a defense just as much as a pass rusher. Knocked down passes big moments, turnovers, TFL, QB pressures on blitzes, etcetera.   I'm  not saying you don't want us to draft a safety, but most of us should agree that WE NEEEED a lights out safety on this team finally.  If DM moves up a spot before Vikings and not give up much to snag him for us I won't be mad in slightest. This kid is a DAWG and I believe he could possibly be a staple on this defense the likes of the guys we still sing praises for Peppers, Kuechly, Davis, Rucker, Beason, Morgan, Gamble..............Thieneman?

    • Picks: Nos. 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 I'm extremely excited for the Panthers' 2026 draft. How could you not be? After two straight offseasons of aggressive defensive spending, coordinator Ejiro Evero's unit looks ready to make the leap. Jaelan Phillips and Devin Lloydfill out two of the biggest gaps on the roster, though the Panthers should not be discounted from drafting a top edge rusher early. Phillips is a major injury risk and not a sack artist, so he doesn't fully solve the Panthers' 5.3% sack rate from last season (27th in the league). The Panthers might be the Akheem Mesidor(Miami) team, as they need his production immediately. The Panthers are also often tagged as the Kenyon Sadiq team, which is very possible. No one among Tommy Tremble, Ja'Tavion Sanders and Mitchell Evans has played his way into an unquestioned starting role. But the Panthers do have three tight ends on the roster, two of whom are on rookie contracts. Sadiq would fit nicely in Dave Canales' offense, which has a dynamic screen game and schemes up targets well. But I'd like to see an accompanying move to make room at the position for Sadiq's snaps to love the pick. There's much more room at wide receiver, where a second three-level option to run besides Offensive Rookie of the Year Tetairoa McMillan could really bust open this offense. I could see an early pick spent in the secondary, which might come as a surprise to some. Slot corner Chau Smith-Wade has been fine but could be improved upon if an elite nickel option is available at No. 51 (think D'Angelo Ponds from Indiana or Keionte Scottfrom Miami). Depth behind the outside corners is also quite thin, and Mike Jackson (29 years old) is in a contract year, so a player with inside-out versatility would have even more value. Clemson's Avieon Terrell, anyone? The Panthers can also buttress the slot by drafting a safety with good man coverage traits to play opposite Tre'von Moehrig, as neither Lathan Ransom nor Nick Scott has emphatically secured that role. Treydan Stukes(Arizona) is another option who would make a lot of sense at No. 51. Bottom line: Wide receiver, pass rusher and defensive back are the big needs. Attack them aggressively -- this is the end of Bryce Young's rookie contract, so it's time to push
