Tampa attempting to trade OT Anthony Collins

Don't fuging trade for that contract. Let him be cut and then try to sign him to a low guaranteed contract and bring him in to compete. He was bad last year but who knows what could happen with him here. He was actually great when filling in as LT for the Bengals.

We made him an offer last offseason but Tampa doesn't have Gettleman and gave him a ridiculous 5-year $30 million dollar deal.

All Gettleman has to do now is wait for the Bucs to cut him and then bring him in on a cheap 1 or 2-year deal.

Collins isn't great but he's still young and athletic.

Yep, we were very interested last year, but if we weren't willing to give him that type of contract in the FA market last offseason, we sure as hell aren't going to trade anything to acquire that contract with Collins coming off of a bad season.  Nor will anyone else.  If the Bucs want out of that deal they're gonna have to cut him.

Do tell.

I remember reading tweets from someone who covers the bucs, and she said that when she asked a bengals assistant coach at the combine last year about collins she got an awful reaction. Mentioning that he took plays off and had a really poor attitude, and wasn't a starting caliber OT. But I would be fine with him as depth/starting in a pinch

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
