Will the fanbase implode if no big moves are made?

Throwing this out for discussion on the eve of F.A. If the Panthers do not sign any upper tier players (such as T.Smith etc.), and rely on lower level signings and the draft....would you be alright with this gameplan?

Yes, I will be very upset. We havent signed a notable FA in years, its time we drop some cash and make a move. Yes FAs can be busts but so can draft picks, atleast with FAs you are getting guys that have proven they can play at a high level in this league. Torrey Smith and KB could solidify our no 1/no 2 WR poaition for years seeing as how T Smith is only 26 and still has a ton of years left.

For those that say "but we dropped big money in the past on FAs and it ended badly." Well I can also make the argument that literally only one player remains on the active roster from the 2011 draft, so I guess that means we should just stop drafting players as well since we got burned in the draft before?

The fanbase always implodes when no big moves are made. No reason to think this year will be any different.

gettleman outright said that it would take about three years to get things straightened out when he got here.  i have to admit when i first heard that i didn't expect it to mean back to back division titles so i'm having a hard time getting pissed at moves/non-moves.

Can hear it now:

"2015 is slipping away!! F@ck!!"

"No Suh?! Guess Gettleman and Richardson don't give 2 sh!ts about winning"

"0-16 staring us in the face!!"

"None of you care that we're losing in free agency!!"

"All he needs is a new team and a bigger contract and then he'll be much healthier"

"Guess Gettleman meant we'd be diving in the Wal-Mart dumpster instead of the Dollar Tree dumpster"

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
