Week two is when the bargains begin. D.G will do the smart thing and get the right player at the right price. Don't everyone get their shorts in a bunch when they are laying in the weeds waiting. They will pounce when the time is right.

I think many will consider our offseason a loss if we don't sign Bulaga, Torrey Smith and Chis Culliver.

Realistically we could sign one free agent in the 5-6 million range and the rest will be vet min deals. I see us signing a safety and maybe a backup corner. Wide receiver and tackle could happen but with the draft being deep at those positions I see us only signing cheap players at those positions and drafting a WR, tackle and CB.

You're always gonna have some people in the crowd who think your offseason is a failure if you don't throw a kajillion dollars at somebody they've seen on Sportscenter less than an hour into the free agent period.

The more informed fans know the pattern, specifically that the teams making great big splashes in the first few days of free agency are usually also the teams sitting at home watching by the first week of the postseason.

    • It's not sustainable,  although he deserve credit for the win also, as he made clutch plays as he does with every win we have.
    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
