Bengals Signing WR Denarius Moore To A One-Year Deal

http://nfltraderumors.co/bengals-signing-wr-denarius-moore-to-a-one-year-deal/

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Bengals are signing former Raiders WR Denarius Moore to a one-year contract.

Moore previously met with the Jets a few weeks ago before visiting withe Bengals on Thursday of last week.

Cincinnati also re-signed WR Brandon Tate, so they have clearly been focused on adding some depth at receiver before this year’s draft.

Moore, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2011. He’s played his four-year, $2,230,052 rookie contract that included just $190,052 guaranteed and was among the best available receivers in free agency.

In 2014, Moore appeared in 10 games and caught 12 passes for 115 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 237 total snaps last year to go along with a poor rating as a receiver.

Someone may want to check on topdawg and make sure he isn't going to off himself

Is Barksdale still available?

Yes but he is asking for way more than we can pay and he put a stop on negotiations last week for his wedding and I think honeymoon that followed. I would've secured that signing bonus first but that's just me. I think it's a pretty safe bet he goes back to the Rams once he gets back to the negotiating table.

Barksdale could possibly be a solid LT so he and agent are likely looking to get paid:

Pro Football Focus rated Barksdale:

2012 - played sparingly for Rams

2013 - #8 RT

2014 - #25 RT (but the 15th best pass blocking grade)

people are also surprised C Stefen Wisniewski is still unemployed:

Pro Football Focus ranked Wisniewski:

#17 C - 2012

#11 C - 2013

#22 C - 2014

ESPN:

"Wisniewski isn’t an elite center, but he wants to be paid much more than the $938,000 he made in base salary in 2014. ... 17 centers in the league make at least an average of $3 million or more, and Wisniewski is likely seeking a deal in that same neighborhood or possibly higher."

can't imagine why no one wants to give him $9M/year.  3 seems like a stretch.  So many better players in the draft.

Free agent Michael Crabtree dropped 10-of-78 catchable passes in 2014.

His 12.82 percent drop rate was the fourth-worst among qualified receivers, behind only Mohamed Sanu, Torrey Smith, and Kelvin Benjamin. Diminished speed, a concerning injury history, and coming off a season where he couldn't catch the ball has certainly affected Crabtree's market. Crabtree also battled drops early in his career. Possession receivers like him need to have reliable hands.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
