Mar 10  NFL free agency: Top targets for each team

Take a look at who David Newton is  saying is the  best fit/upgrade for  Carolina   , Hmmmm??   I am confused now

CAROLINA PANTHERS DE GREG HARDY. Despite his off-the-field issue, he had a combined 26 sacks in 2012 and 2013. He's proved to be one of the top edge pass-rushers in the league, and there are plenty of teams looking for a top pass-rusher. He's Carolina's most complete lineman, able to dominate against the run and drop into pass coverage as well. -- David Newton

Greg Hardy is the only targeted (now ex) Panther at this particular time, and I expect him to be for quite some time unless Deangelo Williams gets some attention at some point.

Nothing for us to see here and probably for the rest of the night, so I am going to sleep for about 12 hours.  Hopefully when I wake up, we'll have more exciting news to talk about than J.B.

Goodnight!

No That list is for what each teams need as in best player to target in free agency for each team  , Not who is the best player From each team that will be target the most in free agency ,,,

It says  ``Our NFL Nation reporters assess which player would be the perfect fit or upgrade``

And in Carolina panthers spot David Newton put Greg Hardy is the best fit/upgrade for the Carolina Panthers  to target in free agency.

I asked him on twitter why he put Hardy when the team has made it clear they aren't bringing him back.

He responded with "The post is about players that other teams would be interested in. "

Apparently the other 31 writers didn't get the same memo as Newton haha

    • Number 9  Carolina Panthers  Bryce Young, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, produced career highs in completion percentage (63.6%), passing yards per game (188.2) and passing touchdowns (23) in 2025. However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down. He threw for the third-fewest passing yards by a quarterback to make the playoffs in the last 20 seasons, per CBS Sports Research.  FEWEST PASSING YARDS BY QB TO REACH PLAYOFFS, LAST 20 SEASONS (MIN. 16 STARTS) PASSING YARDS PLAYOFF WINS 2012 Christian Ponder (MIN) 2,935 0 2008 Joe Flacco (BAL) 2,971 2 2025 Bryce Young (CAR) 3,011 0 2006 Steve McNair (BAL) 3,050 0 2019 Josh Allen (BUF) 3,089 0 Young did deliver some high highs, like when he threw for a franchise-record 448 yards passing in a Week 11 overtime win at the Atlanta Falcons and when he went toe-to-toe with Stafford in the playoffs in a 34-31 defeat.  Kenny Pickett couldn't win the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition a year ago, and Will Grier is a career backup.
