Vikings shopping Cordarrelle Patterson

A 5th and a Conditional 5th that turns into a 4th. We have a conservative offense that needs explosive players... if we had 2 or 3 players that could break the game open at anytime on the field at the same time we would be hard to stop in my opinion

Combine: 4.42 forty with 37 inch vertical

entering year 3 of a cheap rookie contract 4/yr, $6.8 million

Curious what Proehl could do with him?

For a 5th, I'd do it.  I'd probably even toss in next year's 5th or maybe 6th to boot.  I know Getts nails the draft, but you have to give to get, and we'd still be armed with four picks before this.  If we do get compensatory picks this year, then we will have a late 5th as well.

Essentially, moving down 8-15 slots in the 5th round and we get a 6'2 WR with a 4.4 40, 37" vert, 24 years old and is from the area.

I'm not sold on him being the next Randy Moss, but I see a lot of Harvin/Santonio/Randel El here with a lot of upside for a low risk, and on a sweetheart rookie deal.

This always stuck with me in regards to Patterson:

Last night my friends and I were at this bar on the Strip in Knoxville near the UT campus, and low and behold Cordarrelle Patterson was there visiting. I had never met the guy in person and, while I knew he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, thought he'd at least act professionally now that he's a centerpiece of the Vikes' offense.

I went to go shake the guy's hand and a female friend in our group tagged along with me. After I shook his hand, he outright asked my female friend if she would fug his friend. She stared at him for a few seconds in disbelief and walked away.

A few minutes later, she had to go to the restroom, and Cordarrelle was standing in the area near the ladies' room. The bar was pretty crowded, so lightly nudging someone shouldn't be that big of a deal, right? She accidentally rubs elbows with CP, which prompts him to shove her and yell, "fug you, bitch!"

I wasn't planning to start a fight with the guy, but I went up to him and yelled, "what the fug do you think you're doing man?" He was all like, "what you gonna do bruh? what you gonna do?" I paused for a few seconds, then said, "Don't make me call in the Panthers defense!" That shut him up.

So, CP is an asshat. Next time we play them, remember that he likes to shove girls at college bars because they won't fug his friends.

Sounds like some humble pie was just what Patterson needed.

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
