The reason Cam isn't in a hurry to sign a contract

You can chill with that he's here for the next 3 years guranteed. If you have to tag a QB for two straight years, what's the chances you're going to actually agree to a deal?

Cam needs to be signed soon or traded. Funny how I've been painted as the "Cam fan" but you guys act like trading Cam is a deadly sin.

I'm not saying trading Cam should be the goal, you have to do whatever it takes to keep him and that includes "overpaying" another word people here don't like. But you can't allow him to walk away for nothing. That's all I'm saying. You let him walk away and get nothing, it's a 10 year loss.

I shot down every single argument you made, Boy

I hate to burst your bubble kid, but you dont have the firepower to shoot down a paper airplane.

It's clear you know next to nothing about the business side of football. A lot of people don't so that can be forgiven, but you'd be wise not to act like you do because it makes you look bad when you get stuff wrong.

I'm guessing you're in the 13-14 age range based on the silly argument that Gettleman deserves no credit for anything good but all the blame for everything bad. That's dumb, but not surprising coming from someone that age. You should grow out of that (I hope).

But the lack of knowledge about the team though? That's pretty bad.

Near as I can tell, you didn't even watch much - if any - of last season. How can you not know who guys like Andrew Norwell, Mike Remmers and Philly Brown are? Are you only interested in one player? It's a team sport, kid.

But even if your focus is mostly on the QB (which happens) Newton isn't going anywhere for, at the very least, the next three years. And if he has to play under the franchise tag, given that he'll be getting paid a pretty hefty sum, I doubt he'll feel all that bad about it.

My personal expectation is they'll get a deal done next offseason, but it could happen even during the season. Who knows?

Bottom Line: Newton isn't going anywhere for a while, so you can quit panicking.

I can read you like a book, your a yes-man, and you were a yes-man for Hurney. You were one of those people that by November was throwing Cam and Rivera under the bus to protect Gettleman. Your probably not even a man more like a yes boy

I knew who Remmers and Philly were, but unlike you who apparently knows more than our head coach didn't know they should be penciled in as day 1 starters.

And like I mentioned last time even with all those guys you keep bringing up OUR OFFENSE STILL STRUGGLED.

It's not all about money with Cam, maybe has a little thing called pride, maybe he's tired of losing, maybe he's tired of being the most hit QB in the league and having WR that can't get open.

I hope they do work out a deal before next off season, cause that insures me Cam's willing to stay in this incompetent mess we call an offense.

But if we don't get a deal by this time next year, you better take off your Gettleman glasses boy, and see this isn't about money this is about a QB being fed up about being completely black listed. No front office is stupid enough to keep a disgruntled QB.

But that's exactly what we do every time. How many teams have you known to not let not one but 2 top 5 DEs walk for nothing. Expect Cam to do the same if it comes down to it.

Worst rebuttal ever.

See, I gave you some options to help you out, but instead you responded like a petulant teenager. Sounds last ke I may actually have overestimated your age.

You've got nothing to say, kid.

That's what I thought, you have no rebuttal at this point

As you grow older boy, your going to learn its ok not to go with grain.

Nah, there's plenty of rebuttal available. It's just not worth arguing with a twelve year old whose best comeback is the equivalent of "I know you are but what am I". It's boring.

Declare victory to your heart's content, kid. You've still got nothing.

(and quick FYI, this site requires you be over 18)

Actually their isn't anything you can rebuttal at this point, all you do is keep bringing up the same things you have been saying since you first commented.

I'm the kid, yet your the one who started with the sarcasm, your the one trying to make it seem like theirs nothing wrong with this team. It's like your living in a fantasy land

But that's what boys do.....

Oh the irony

Look for attention elsewhere, kid. I've already given you more of mine than it's worth.

    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
    • Maybe faked was too strong of a word.  "Milked" may be the better way to call it.
