Robert Lester one of the best DB in the League next year?

Philly Brown posted a picture of Robert Lester and his self on IG today. Apparently, they had a hooping session and took a picture after it was done. The caption of the picture is self explanatory. Could Robert Lester be one of the best DB in the league next year? Could he end all the talk about finding someone to replace Roman Harper at Safety? I think so why not give the man a shot. If nobody else thinks so Philly Brown sure does.

Nice to see the guys hanging out together.  Offense vs Defense, Ohio St vs. Alabama----Panthers.

I hope he steps up.  He is not a fluid player, and he is not a smart (instinctive) player--however, maybe he also has a relationship with Harper.

Obligatory, "what's he supposed to say about his team mate?" Comment.

On the real, if he is, that would be an obvious bonus.

You're right. You never know this would be Lester third season in the league like Josh Norman when he started to break out last season. Let's hope he can be the answer in the secondary but i'm pretty sure they will bring someone else in to compete with him and slow Roman Harper. I really like the Taylor Mays kid out of USC. The kid is built like a linebacker at 6'3 with WR speed running close to a 4.2 in the combine. His struggles has been mainly in coverage when he got the chance to play but he hasn't played behind our defensive line and linebacker corp yet. I'm not saying he is the answer but I wouldn't mind taking a look at him.

    • I think we have some revisionist around it here because of all the drama around Tepper's involvement. If you pull up any scouting report from the time you'll see the same take. WalterFootball's report sums up the media's thoughts on him well: "Young has everything the NFL is looking for in a quarterback except in terms of weight and height." He was the consensus top QB of his draft and the only real question mark they had about him was whether his body could hold up in the NFL. The infamous Steph Curry comparison the Panthers latched onto came from Albert Breer. The excuses I've heard for him are more anecdotal. Bryce Young's development is the only bullet point most NFL fans have on the Panthers right now. That and the coaching turnover. If you're not actually watching our games it's easy to believe this is just a dysfunctional organization that doesn't know how to unleash this talented Heisman winner.  I've seen media and fans alike run with that narrative way more than criticizing Young outright. Whenever we win there's flocks who use it as proof that the Panthers just need to be patient.
    • So maybe 1-3 vs playoff teams, going by standings as of today. I guess that is an improvement.  We are just about improved enough to be in purgatory draft wise. It really isn’t so bad in the 1st unless you really want that top QB or maybe edge guy because there are usually plenty of good players at the top but it hurts you some as get deeper in the draft.
