My money is on Kevin Johnson in the 1st.

Kevin Johnson just makes too much sense. First he is your prototypical size at CB, he is a ball hawk and a great all around corner, if he is there, he might very well be BPA at our pick. Not only that but if Norman has another good year he could command a pretty sizeable contract.

I see Norman as this year's Greg Hardy (minus the off field stuff ofcourse) in that he might just be one of those really good players that Gman just isnt willing to break the bank for.

Kevin Johnson is Josh Norman insurance. Not to mention Norman is 27 going on 28 while Kevin Johnson will be only 23 by the time the NFL season starts and will be cheaper by a wide margin on his rookie deal. In my mind Kevin Johnson just makes too much sense. Great size, great CB and might very well be BPA. Picking him would have a ripple effect, not only will we be getting a great CB, we will have a lot of cap savings in having him replace a older Josh Norman at fraction of the cost. Oh and we also visited with him twice.

I'm not even sure he'll be there at 25. Also, he is a pretty terrible tackler and I don't know how much Gettleman values that in a CB. Could drop him down our board a bit if he really values that.

Couldn't disagree more about his tackling skills. He's a very good all around player.

But I don't take Wake Forest players high. They usually don't improve much in the pros. KJ has been at Wake now five years and he probably understands the game as well as you could expect. Physically, he won't get much stronger. And mentally, I don't think there is a lot of room for improvement. Wake prepares their kids well, even as talent deficient as they are.

Bottom line-- WF players almost always disappoint in the pros. Aaron Curry, Alphonso Smith, Chris Givens, Brandon Ghee, Kenny Moore, the list goes on and on.

This makes no sense.

Hardy's off field stuff is the reason Gettleman (and the rest of the league) "just isn't willing to break the bank".

You can't say Norman is this year's Hardy "minus the off field stuff" because then there is no comparison.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
