The Great Pie Debate - Offseason 2015 Edition

Pretty mundane really...

I dunno man, it's just one of those things I haven't ever done for no reason or other. I've eaten some weird ish before (cow tongue, Fools gold loaf, Gator, Deep fried everything, any weird concoction with Bacon involved) but I've never had standard pie.

Hey, if I hadn't been raised around so much of it, I could probably say the same thing.  I'm not much of a dessert person.  I'd rather have the extra helping of the main course.

Might I suggest a bowl of fried apples?

It breaks my heart to see a nice crust go unappreciated.

Oooh. I love fried apples!

Seriously, I eat sweets rarely. I just don't want them most of the time. My weakness would be chips, bread, starchy stuff. I can eat my weight in that crap.

For a fruit pie to be anything other than a gooey bowl of fruit,

the crust is the foundation, walls, and ceiling to the pie.

Much like a house is just a house till you add people, then it becomes a home.

A pie crust is just bland crumble bread until you add your filling. Then it's pie.

I prefer homemade with brown sugar, butter, and crushed pecans or walnuts.

Crust is at the very least 45% of the pie.
