Buck Allen vs Duke Johnson

Chances are we are drafting a rb. If we don't go Gurley in the 1st(cuz he's been drafted) I think these guys might be possibilities.

I'd love to have some prospect "vs" threads leading up to the draft.

I know we have some fans of both teams so I'd like to hear from you.

And....go

I thought Duke has been a stud the whole time he's been at Miami and he's gotten stronger as time went on.

He's fast. Don't know his combine numbers but don't care. He's good for a highlight a game with the d chasing him.

I can't really remember him passing catching much. But again QB play at The U not so much. He's a hard runner who could cut and go or bowl over.

From what I remember anyways. And I'm no scout either. I just liked what I saw.

As for Buck Allen...wasn't he on Saturday Night Live in the 80s? Kinda surprised he's in the draft. He's gotta be around 70 or so. But hey, good for him.

Just looked him up on Wikipedia. He's 84 years old. Couldn't find many stats on him.

Oh and he changed his name too. I guess he thought Buck Henry didn't sound like an NFL name. Who knew?

I heard he realized the nfl was a lifelong dream he's running out of time to fulfill. Couldn't compete at the combine because he was getting a pacemaker but has been really working hard with a personal trainer. No word on his 40 time, but some have said he's gotten the attention of a few scouts.

I would be surprised if he goes before the 6th round honestly, but good for him going for his passions at that age.

Yeah I was thinking a flyer in the 7th or snap him up as a UDFA before anyone else can.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
