RUMOR: Panthers looking to move up to 16-20th pick

I'm sure Gettleman is just feeling it out and trying to get and idea of what it would cost to move up to those spots in case someone they really like falls a bit. Wouldn't surprise me at all if we moved up for an OT or WR on draft day.

I am not questioning DG as a GM. I am talking specifically about the claim that he owns the third day of the draft. There is not sufficient evidence to back that claim.

Voth did make a good point that we've been talking to guys projected to go ahead of #25. 

 

If the right guy is there in the 16-20 range, we could make a move.

Sounds to me like the teams in that range are trying to create a market to make a trade. I agree with RocknRolla who says that "nobody is moving up for this OT group that lacks an elite prospect and is full of guys projected at RT and guard".

No GM bats 1.000 or even close to it in the draft. Honestly, can't understand that Gettleman's two draft classes here so far are really damn good, then I fear you may just be dumb and unfortunately that's a condition that is unlikely to improve.

DG does not strike me as someone who would orchestrate such a trade. Draft day trading to move up in the first round to me is almost like spending big in FA.

Tre Boston went from being a throwaway pick to being a first rounder in a re-do according to draft experts. Just stop. G-Man had a killer draft last year. In addition, he's excellent at rounding up UDFA talent too (Norwell, White, Lester, Philly, etc).
