Cedric Ogbueih question. .

The consensus best OT and top 10 pick if healthy. . Probably will be there at 25..

With the moves we've made this off-season at the OT position (having competition with Oher, Martin, Remmers and Nate throw up in my mouth Chandler) and the advancement in injury technology. .

Would you consider him in the 1st knowing by mid season you could be starting your future 10 year starter at LT?

Just my opinion I wouldn't mind getting our future LT the same way we got Star..

If I KNEW he would be a 10 year starter?  Obviously.  But there are no such guarantees.  He's not a perfect prospect even discounting the injury.  And given the trend of TAMU LTs looking like can't miss prospects and sucking in the NFL so far, I wouldn't want him in the 1st.  In the 2nd?  Sure, worth a gamble.  Not with our first pick though.

Just to do the math..

He got hurt November - December and had his surgery. .

About 8 to 10 months for recovery. .

Training Camp doesn't start until August and with the season starting in September... We can have our future top 10 talent LT playing by game 5 or 6... At worst he sits out most the year and we go with the stop gaps... But you still have a top 10 talent LT on the roster. .

Just my opinion i'm intrigued by this idea...

Ogbuehi was pretty much a consensus first round pick until his injury. If Gettleman believes in him, then who am I to argue? I would be surprised if he is a first round pick though. The only one that I could see drafting him in the first is us, but I would prefer gambling that he would be there in the second and taking a receiver in the first

He started at LT this year and wasn't good at it. He was moved back to RT where he looked more comfortable and played better. Even with no torn ACL in his bowl game, he was dropping to late 1st early 2nd since he couldn't handle LT. Probably drop another round with the ACL tear.

He also showed a great deal of improvement once going back to LT, after playing RT for several games. The A&M coaching staff, asked him to play RT because of an injury to another teammate and didn't want the LG, to be kicked outside and to a different side.

Talent wise, he is worth a 1st.

He converted all 13 of his field goal tries with a 100% conversion rate that led all FBS kickers with at least 12 attempts. Fitzgerald was also perfect on his 14 extra points. He will compete with Matthew Wright for the Panthers’ kicking job in training camp. Harrison-Hunte went undrafted despite a strong showing at the Combine. He’s an older prospect who will turn 25 by the start of his rookie year, but he had just one season of sustained production at SMU after five years at Miami. Still, he earned first-team All-ACC honors in 2024 with 8.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks and will push for a roster spot in Carolina as an athletic interior disruptor.   more at the link https://www.profootballrumors.com/2025/05/panthers-sign-19-undrafted-free-agents
