Hernandez Gets life in Prison without the possibility of Parole

got it right? the prosecution in no way proved that Hernandez pulled the trigger.  I'm not saying hes innocent, I just don't think the prosecution proved their case beyond a reasonable doubt.

In Massachusetts, they don't have to prove he pulled the trigger. All they have to prove is he was actively involved his murder, and they did. Each person involved in a murder can be charged with first degree murder, regardless of if they actually killed the person or not.

Proven doesn't not equal proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

Meaning you don't need a 5 hour video of the time he woke up all the way until he killed someone to get him convicted.

You just need it to be obvious, you need for the explanation of what happens to match up with all the evidence. Lawyers can twist it around and that's how people who obviously did something go free. And at the same time, it can also be why innocents are convicted. However, the premise works. There are casualties of the system, obviously but nothing is perfect. You can't require too much 'proof' to convict someone because it makes it easier and easier for an offender to cover their tracks.

'Beyond a reasonable doubt' is what is needed and despite there not being much hard evidence, the facts and people revolving around the case it's obvious beyond a reasonable doubt he was guilty. I'm not sure why people think you need all this proof to convict someone, it doesn't work like that. You just need evidence that adds up, beyond a reasonable doubt (that's obvious) to a conclusion.

Kraft's testimony played a role...

Kraft testified under oath that he spoke with Hernandez when reports first surfaced of Lloyd’s death, and that Hernandez had given Kraft an assurance that he was not involved. Hernandez claimed to Kraft that he had been inside a club at the time that Lloyd was killed, which sounds like a good alibi — except that it raised questions in the minds of jurors as to how, exactly, Hernandez could have known what time Lloyd was killed.

“One part, for me, was Aaron’s alleged statement that . . . he was at a club at that time,” one juror said. “We still don’t know the exact time of Odin’s murder, specifically. So I don’t know how Aaron would have had that information two years ago. Even today, after medical examiners’ review, we still don’t have that information.”

Jurors believe that Hernandez knew what time Lloyd was killed because Hernandez was the one who killed him. Hernandez proclaiming his innocence to Kraft helped the jurors reach that conclusion.

"Yeah...I was in a club at the exact time he was killed."

"Ummmm.. Aaron, precisely how is it that you know the exact time he was killed?"

Again, we're not exactly talking about a rocket scientist here.

Damn, I feel for everyone involved: the ones who were murdered, the fam of those murdered, even Hernandez. He obviously wasn't all the way there, and was lead astray at some point in his life. Hopefully, he and those involved are able to find some type of peace.

Life in the pen, caged up. Man, I couldn't image it.

He does not deserve peace.  He deserves a life of immense pain and suffering......and he is going to get it.

If that's how you feel, I can't knock it. What he did was terrible. He took the life(s) of another human being.

I believe different in that I believe everyone deserves peace, peace of mind, etc. I was taught and brought up to have compassion and mercy on all living things. We all mess up and do things were not supposed to do. He wasn't put to death, so while he'll be in the pen, he's still got a chance to get his life right. Sad the guy murdered doesn't get that opp, though.

But like i said in the beginning, I def respect your opinion and feel where your coming from.

I understand where you are coming from but I just can't have a lot of compassion for a person who did what he did.

Murderers, rapists, and child molesters deserve what they get and more.

    • Link to article Seven players mentioned are... ILB Mark Robinson (PIT) - 2022 seventh round pick that was a core special teams player and was productive in the final preseason game vs. CAR (3 TKLs, 1 FF, 1 FR). Undersized at 5'11" 235 lbs.  CB O'Donnell Fortune (NYG) - UDFA rookie out of South Carolina (and a Sumter native). 6'1", 185lbs frame fits the Panthers' preference for long and lanky CBs. Panthers' evaluators got a lot of time with him during the Shrine Bowl, his pro day, and the combine. CB Damarri Mathis (DEN) - 2022 fourth-round pick that played for Evero his rookie season at 5'11" 195lbs both inside and outside. Did well under Evero (16 games, 11 starts, 65 TKLs, 7 PBUs) but slid down the depth chart after he left. Started just seven of 27 games the last two seasons. DB Dean Clark (NYJ) - Fresno State UDFA with good size (6'1" 205lbs) and preseason production (5 TKLs, 1 INT, 2 PBUs) that can also play special teams. The Panthers have claimed a player from the Jets in each of the past two seasons (having also played the Jets both times in preseason though). OLB Brennan Jackson (LAR) - 2024 fifth-rounder that notched three sacks in the preseason. Played special teams and rotated in on defense that could potentially be an upgrade from DJ Johnson. DB Beau Brade (BAL) - 2024 UDFA that appeared in 11 games and played 70% of the special teams snaps. Has the size (6'0" 209lbs) that the team covets at safety. K Ben Sauls (PIT) - 24yrs old and went four-for-four against Carolina in preseason. Made 21 of 24 FGs during his final college season at Pitt.
