Daniel Jeremiah's 2-round mock at nfl.com

Not bad but I just think Peat isn't going to be a starter right away and could struggle against speed rushers unless he can improve his game in Carolina.

I think Peat is about as NFL ready as OTs come. IMO, his downside is that he's fairly athletically limited. He doesn't move all that well and may have limited upside. Now, that doesn't mean he can't be a very good NFL OT it just means he has to be a fantastic technician. Corey Glenn doesn't move all that great either and he's a pretty damn good NFL LT on a pretty bad OL making his job even tougher than it already is.

For such a "great athlete" Shaq Thompson tested out remarkably average at the combine. Definitely raises some questions, but I'd still be surprised for him to be on the board when the 3rd round begins.

The question I ask myself is if he didn't play running back (plays 3 positions), would he be looked at any differently than a Kwon Alexander?  He's repeatedly said he wants to be an OLB.

And if we're looking at SS, I think Tartt and Russell would fit better.  Tartt is more seasoned, athletic, bigger, and faster.  If we want a Kam-type SS, I really think Tartt is the closest fit this draft.

Was with us before, think he'll transition smoother than 2013. What gives you faith in a rookie?

Didn't a rookie beat out Ginn last year??

And let's be clear Ginn best season are down years for good number #2 WR's..

So Ginn was ok for us but we can get better..

I don't think anyone expects or is asking for Ginn to be the #2. He's a return guy ad sub-package field stretcher.

as much as Proehl preached route-running and how happy he'd get to get Cooper (best route-runner in draft), it would be interesting to know how much Proehl is interested in Strong (if at all), as Strong's biggest flaw is subpar route-running

in the 18-22 yr old league he made up for it with good hands, body control, etc...but he won't be able to get by on that in the grown man league where everyone is older and much better than anyone he faced.

That's the best possible situation for him.. Full time special teams guy part time Wr..

Yep, I think our plan is to try to have him pick right up where he left off in 2013. Just having him out there will force safeties to be honest. It was really obvious in the playoff game against the Seahawks just how badly we were missing a deep threat. Those DBs were jumping the hell out of EVERYTHING because they didn't fear getting beat deep by anyone we had on the field.
