Which two round scenario appeals more to you?

Shaq is a day one upgrade over Roman Harper and an eventual replacement to TD.

 

Ogbuehi as a future LT is a great value in the second. Find some combination of Oher, Remmers and Martin to start the season, give Cedric time to heal, then plug him in after the bye week.

 

Plus the 3rd round WRs look great. Any of Tre McBride, Justin Hardy, Sammie Coates or even Tyler Locket if he falls would be upgrades at WR2.

Cedric is a huge man with an already torn acl. A big guy with a bad knee is a huge deal. Otah and kugzilla had comparatively minor injuries and could / haven't got right. You want that guy? You're crazy.

Good thread, Mr. Scott because it really exposes the job Gettlemen has done filling gaps in the roster entering the draft.  We have question marks and potential at several positions, but at least we have someone, unlike WR last year--making the first rounder a fairly obvious necessity. 

 

 

I would be happy with A, but I really want Shaq, just not in the first.  I think we couuld trade up for him in the second by packaging our original fifth and maybe our sixth. 

 

I am going back and forth on Strong (is his skill set a good fit) and Smith (is he a one-trick pony that was effective in college, would be less so in NFL?).

 

This draft and our roster is so balanced right now that we can go so many directions, nobody has any idea what we might do.  A really nice problem.  I am willing to bet that if you asked 50 huddlers who our first round pick will be, you would get 20 different answers.

With you on this, bro.  His play was rather erratic, he was labeled "soft" by some, he failed at LT and was moved back to RT, and then his injury made playing in 2015 rather unlikely. 

 

Not someone you grab in the first or second round.

 

Personally, I think we are going to draft a T or two, but later.  Laurence Gibson, Corey Robinson, Chaz Green--one of those guys will be a Panther. 

 

The reason?  Poor performance by first and second year OTs taken in the top 20 picks of the first round of the draft in 2013 and 2014, along with a confidence that Oher/Matsko can hold down LT and Remmers/Martin can hold down RT.
