NFL states they will 'no longer rely on the legal system'

Based on what they're saying, they're not going to wait for the legal system. They'll do their own investigation immediately, and if they find credible evidence of 'conduct detrimental' the player in question will be suspended.

I could very easily see that causing friction between the NFL and government(s). Keeping the NFL investigation out of the picture until the legal process plays out is really the only way to keep this clean.

I read my master agreement between my union and employer. Nothing at all in there about getting let go if you commit a felony. If they tried to suspend or fire me I'm going to get paid.

Bet your union didn't collectively bargain to agree to a "conduct detrimental" clause, either. The NFLPA did, so the players have to live with it until 2021 or go on strike.

"Most companies would fire you after you getting convicted by a judge and wouldn't wait for the jury trial"

Except for the NFL which was perfectly content with waiting for the jury trial in Hardys case. They were also perfectly fine letting Hardy play while he was waiting for his jury trial.

UNTIL

The second rice video leaked and the media started attacking the league and anyone involved with DV.

Which pretty much clearly shows the NFL isn't concerned with getting things right. They are concerned with how they look.

Which is weak and myopic at the least and disgusting and self serving at most.

If you really read the NFLs statements they are just throwing things out there at this point.

Again, 'legality' doesn't apply here.

There is no constitutional right to play in the NFL, so when a team suspends or cuts a player, nobody's right are violated.

On the flipside however, companies and corporations absolutely have the legal right to terminate the employment of someone who violates their policies.

All true.  However, most companies don't have to deal with a Union.  The NFL does.  It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Harness that evil, greedy corporation by buying shares of it and making yourself richer. That's the way I prefer to Occupy Wall Street.

you know that saying...if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all.... that's me. I don't gamble or trade stocks. My broke ass would be more broke. However I am glad some can do it effectively.
