I'm always weary of "Jack of All Trades" type players.  This ain't the 50s or the 60s.  If Shaq wants to play linebacker, keep him at linebacker.  I keep hearing all this stuff about him at safety, but can he cover deep?  No?  Keep his butt at linebacker.

I wouldn't think of Perriman and Dorsett as "second tier WRs". Both of them were off the board by pick 29. 

 

Would you consider them in the same tier as Parker, Cooper, and White?

Anyway, he enables us to be more flexible on the defensive side of the ball.  He probably will be labeled "linebacker," but I expect to see several different looks with him on the field.

Biggest reach in round 1. A special teamer who has no position? Glad we are letting the players make picks now, guess its why the panthers have been such a failure in its history.

Why do people think that having a great defense doesn't benefit Cam more than having a good players on offense. 

 

Last 2 years.... would you rather have Russell Wilson and the Seahawks defense or Andrew Luck and his defense.  

 

Depends on if you want Cam to be in Superbowls or Probowls.

The way I look at it this is a great pick for the following reasons. 

 

1. We got a starting OLB to take over the position for Klein. 

2. We got a LB that can cover TEs 

3. We got a player that can play in the nickel and dime in the joker position (do we really want to see Colin Jones, Harper, or one of the other FAs we picked up?) 

4. We got a players who can take over for Davis in the future. 

5. We got a player that can play special teams

6. We got a player who can fill in so many roles to help this team (not including RB, he's not playing that)
