Fox Sports not to optimistic about Panthers chances this season

I know this is going to bring the the typical, "what do you expect we were a 7 win team" responses, and other negative comments about how us homers think everyone disrespects the Panthers. But seeing that this is a Panthers discussion forum, I thought this to be interesting.  If some of you don't like the topic, participation is not mandatory,

It's hard to understand not only Fox ranking the Panthers so low, but how can they justify some of the teams ahead of us?

25: Panthers

"The Panthers inexplicably neglected to fix the offensive tackle holes this offseason with premium draft picks or free agent contracts, but they did add two potential day one starters at other positions in the draft. If the team takes a step forward in other areas, but a step back in pass protection, they should win a similar amount of games in 2015."

Lol.

not even going to bother looking at that poo on the other side of that link. don't really see the point. they are entitled to their incredibly ill-informed opinion and i'm entitled to think they are uneducated asshats.

Quick tip to avoid blood pressure fluctuations,

DO NOT READ INTERNET DRAFT GRADES!

They are terribly misinformed, lazy, and flat out incorrect. No one, and I mean no one can accurately grade a draft in the days following it.

We fall for it every year!

This was a power ranking. My issue was their comments having no real substance. What Fox essentially said was: If you give a plant water and sunshine it could grow and blossom. If you don't give a plant sunshine and water it won't grow and possibly even die. Fox. Real men of genius.

We have Oher at LT so we're headed to 7-9? Please. Predicting a losing season is more of a knock on Cam at this point. We have plenty of talent of talent on both sides of the ball, and a possible top 5 defense. It has to be their lack of faith in Cam leading this team. It's not an overall talent issue anymore.

    • The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market.  On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size.   TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff?
    • I don’t  think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!
    • in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft .  this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint  ...just saying
