I want to be put on 'The Map' by this time next year.

Alabama used to be pro New Orleans. Minds are a-changing.

this map (https://interactive.twitter.com/nfl_followers2014/) says that Alabama is beginning to be a Panther stronghold ;)

EDIT: well I thought it did. oh well. it used to before the season ended. but I guess this map updates in real time because there are a hell of alot more blue counties in eastern NC than last time I saw this map. not that I'm complaining!!

EDIT #2: if you select only the Panthers, you can see how all of Alabama has more Panthers fans than the rest of the country outside of the home states.

being that they don't have any pro teams, Alabama doesn’t care as much about the NFL. They are all in on Auburn and Alabama (Alabama has the majority). On Sundays, they cheer for teams that have the biggest stars from Auburn or Bama. Auburn fans will cheer for teams like Carolina for Cam (and now CAP too). Bama fans will cheer for Saints (Ingram), Packers (Lacy), and so on.

That was after the 2013 season IIRC.  There were actually Panther bandwagons popping up in a lot of places on that map after 2013.

Didn't take long for 'em to hop off that bandwagon after 2014 though it seems.

Hell, half the country acts like Cam is some garbage QB after ONE bad season (and it wasn't even "bad" it was literally average... his first non above average-to-good season) where he was hurt all year with a completely new receiving corps which he had no chemistry with and the worst offensive line in the league for most the season.  It's pretty ridiculous how quickly the general NFL fan's opinion changes from season to season.

How every county in NC and SC is not solid blue is puzzling. It's a disgrace is what it is.

agreed. but we are rapidly gaining more fans. they will start as bandwagon fans or children who grow up with the Panthers around, but in 10 years time, our fanbase will be youthful and rockin!

this, of course, is predicated on the Panthers continuing to string together competitive seasons.

It's A LOT better than it used to be, trust me.

South Carolina used to be like 75% Steelers on that map not even a year and a half ago.  Sizeable chunks of NC also used to be be Steelers/Dallas/Redskins.  Now they're both almost completely Panther blue.

Good to see South Carolina is finally starting to get with the fugin' program.  I've even noticed in person when I go to SC this past year there seems to suddenly be a lot more Panthers representation than usual.

    • I think you should see the OP for pretty big reasons why that is a completely incorrect take given this is a Dave Canales team.
    • TMac is a good player and would've been the right pick if our QB could throw a ball farther than 40 yards. For this team's current build (run first, game management passing attack) and the fact that our TE's are laughably bad - the five on our roster have combined for less than 600 yards total, with 3 TDs - Warren should've been the pick.
    • If anyone feels like they can't have a conversation about Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career maybe assess why and how these conversations end this way instead of looking to shoot the messenger. Why is it okay to label anyone else on the team or coaching staff trash? Folks on the huddle and across the fanbase on social media have fully thrown anyone and everyone including rookie 8th overall pick TMac fully under the bus multiple times this season. But some of you guys apparently expect a pat on the back because Bryce Young successfully evaded a few potential sacks while Tyler Shough got consumed by our pass rush throughout the game and still had a superior performance. The state of this division is hilariously mediocre at best. Bryce Young is the only player on this roster who is allowed to have the lowest bar possible yet we have invested the most resources in him. It's lunacy.
