sounds like a work horse maybe they will show him on the Carolina Huddle mini-camp show next weekend as I watched the Panther Huddle yesterday where they showed the rookies playing. And they showed Gettie and Ron introducing Shaq to Carolina and you could tell they really loved him and where high on him finishing his college and his work ethics..And listening to Shaq made me feel a lot better about the pick...I think he will be a solid addition to Carolina and not a waste of a pick..

The kid has the legs of a 190+ player. A little upper body work and he will get there.

He is the opposite of guys like Joe Adams who had sticks for legs.

That comparison about Byrd's legs, brings to mind Steve Smith and the  large, powerful he has for  legs for his size.

I just sense a lot of optimism. I hope and want all of these guys to succeed. I was just rying to see if you were playing them up a little bit for a little needed hype.

From your response I think you are meaning what you say. It sounds like we have some good new players.

Living in Florida I dont get much of a chance to see my team, especially in the offseason. Thanks for the updates. I hope you didnt take my post the wrong way.

Jeremy has posted training camp write-ups before about how there was no sense of urgency and the team seemed listless, before they came out and sucked in the regular season. If he sounds optimistic, it's not because it's forced or hype, it's what he feels based on what he watches.

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
