Charles Johnson moving to Right Defensive End

David Newton talks about a possible switch from the left defensive end spot to the right in the article below. Newton says that Charles has lost a step and that it makes sense to move him to the right side so he can go up against a less athletic RIGHT tackle. He believes this can help replace Hardy's production from the quarterback's blind side.

Unfortunately, Newton's logic is flawed since moving Johnson to the right means he is going up against a more athletic LEFT tackle! He clearly does not understand that attacking the blind side means you are going up against a left tackle.

Not a good thing, he's better on the left as he's been there pretty much his whole career. And idk if CJ lost a step, he lost all his damn weight and his strength. At least last year he did, don't know about how he's looking so far

Yeah hopefully if he's back to 100% he can be disruptive on that side. Maybe they think ealy and Alexander are better suited against the RTs and CJ can be crafty enough against the LTs. CJ and Addison against the LTs and Ealy/Alexander against RTs.
