I can answer it for you.  He sucks.  Has sucked for a long time.  People have wanted desperately for him not to suck. But he sucks time and time again.  Any one who says he hasn't sucked hasn't watched him.   He is Fua of the guard position.  He is the main contributor to Cam mechanics getting f$%$% up because he is bad.  Even if the "PFF numbers" don't show it, I promise you, just watch a game and you will see how bad he is in pass protection.  He is constantly being pushed back or blown by or just plain beaten.  It's been like that for years.

amini had that one little blip i think during the first half of the 2013 season where he looked like a decent prospect. he put together a few good games in a row as a run blocker and got downfield a couple of times for some nice blocks.

he's still on his rookie deal, right? i imagine we'll hang onto him as cheap insurance policy and release him when it expires.

Yeah he's in the last year of his rookie deal.

Yep, he seemed to be playing OK up until the Arizona game where he got injured. Problem is he wasn't really a loss and hasn't played well since.

Norwell played man football at a big school at a high level against big players. Amini played at a small high school level D3 college against small dudes. Norwell is an NFL caliber player. Amini was a project. Norwell is better, period end of story.

He was looking decent at the beginning of the 2013 season until he tore his ACL against Arizona that year.  He hasn't been the same since.  I highly doubt he is re-signed after his rookie deal is up.  Right now he's just depth.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
