Team Leader- KK?

With our history of drafting d-lineman I see Gettleman taking Star's replacement next year. It pains me to say that because I think Star is really good but KK is on the verge of Kris Jenkins type dominance. We have to pinch the pennies somewhere and drafting high quality depth year in and year out is the way you do it.

That said I hope we can keep both.

What in the actual fug? You can't really believe what you're saying do you? Star isn't getting replaced. KK and Star do not even play the same position. So KK's performance has no bearing on Star's tenure. Dave likes his big men and Star and KK fit that mold. Dave will keep both.

after their first season I started worrying about being to afford both.  It will take some

Gettymagic for it to happen but I think he will.  We'll have huge contracts in Cam and Luke,

a big one for Norman, but because so many of our stars are so young and still on rookie contracts,

I think it can happen.

DL is a priority in our philosophy.  Also, we'll be more than likely done paying for CJ, Stewart and

possibly even Ryan K.  Getty had a 5 year plan and while last year was a growing pain type of season,

we are really set up for long term excellence, both in cap space and talent already on board.

No sht they don't play the same position. But they are on the same salary cap. Notice I didn't say Star would be cut I said we could draft his replacement.

Gettleman will keep KK over Star if it comes down to it. You think we'll be able to keep Luke, Norman, KK, and Star, and by that time think about extending KB, or Boston(if he gets really good) or Bene, replacing Olsen.TD etc..

I'm just saying Gettleman is always thinking long term. We will not be able to keep everybody down the road and I don't think the eventual release of Charles Johnson is going to keep everyone on the roster. And Ealy or Alexander better be probowl material by that time or we could be in trouble.

You're right DG likes big men and he will continue to draft them too. And if we take a talented NT for depth and to groom it will only help us replenish the roster elsewhere.  I say all of this as a Star fan but DG isn't going to fall trap to Hurney's pitfalls.

Star was banged up almost all season long last year.  Here in a few months there's going to be a ton of threads about how much Star has improved and what a beast he is.  It'll be cause he's healthy again.

KK is really good, but what he does on the field is more easily replaced than what Star does.
