Nice work.  This shows how we've dramatically gone for a "youth movement"

Of 27 draftees from 2001 - 2010 who are still in the league, only 4 are still with the Panthers.

That's not too surprising given a new GM and a new Head Coach, AND given our Cap Hell.  But still WOW.  We ARE a young team!

Good List!!  Interesting to see where our picks are.  I completely had forgotten about Joe Berger... was 6th round pick in 2005.  Cut and then signed to PS- never played in an actual game.

Still sucks Mathis never developed here... I remember the coaches were raving about his strength and everyone thought he was going to become a great guard.  Which he did, just not here...  Would be shocked if he's not picked up- thinking he is still wanting too much money right now

Only 3 of the players from the 2011 draft are still in the league. Man, was that draft HORRIBLE

Am I correct in remembering that the entire draft class was really weak and has a very low percentage of players still in the league?  I seem to recall reading that this summer.

First 7 draft picks of that draft are pro bowlers, as are 8 of the first 10 with JJ Watt being picked at #11.

The first round was something special, but it looks pretty mediocre after the first round truth be told. Couple of studs here and there but nothing like the first round...

Having said that, the 2011 draft produced top 5 players at a number of different positions:

Richard Sherman

Patrick Peterson

Justin Houston

JJ Watt

Julius Thomas

Demarco Murray

Randall Cobb

AJ Green

Julio Jones

Robert Quinn

Vonn Miller

Marcell Dareus

And of course, Our very own Cam Newton even though he isn't a top 5 QB.

That's just the best of the best, but that's still quite a few blue chip players out of one draft

[never mind.  something went wrong with my brain/]

Thanks for that Cracka.  Nice info.

Turns out 2011 is the 5th best draft class in the past 25 years

I'm not sure what year I confused it with.  Or maybe I was just thinking of the fact that it wasn't a good draft for the Panthers in terms of long-term impact players.
