Who Impressed/Who Depressed vs Patriots

I was depressed with Rivera for not playing Wegher more and earlier.

They obviously had a plan before preseason to put him on the practice squad even if he is the most dynamic RB on the roster. I think they are dumb enough to believe they can limit his touches and people will forget him.

Crazy thing is even with limiting his touches he still makes big plays and does not need any serious blocking to do it. He almost broke a big play with the knuckle ball from Webb during a broken play. I bet Shula and Rivera were praying he dropped that trash pass. He worked to set himself up for that opportunity. Wish we had more players like Wegher. The only other players that dynamic on offense I have seen in a Panthers uniform are Cam Newton and Steve Smith.

I'd say Todman is.  Fozzy is a matter of opinion.  He actually played well tonight.

Runningback depth is probably where the toughest choices are gonna have to be made.

Fozzy did play rather well tonight, but my stance is that Fozzy has hit his ceiling and it's relatively low.  He's serviceable, sure.  But it would kill me to let Wegher slip through our fingers in the interest of holding onto a 1980's Kirstie Alley when we could have a 1980's Alyssa Milano that could turn into a late 90's/early 00's Alyssa Milano.

Impressed:  Shaq, CAP, Ealy, Tillman, our D Line and basically entire 1st team Defense, Cam, Tolbert,

Solid:  Fozzy, Coleman, Josh, Bene, Ginn, Cotchery, Oher, Boykin, Boston, Simonson, Lucas

Depressed: Corey Brown, Folkerts, J Stew.

Didn't hear enough of:

Daryl Williams (assuming he impressed, don't think I heard his name all night on the radio call)

Wegher, Ward - hard to judge how they did??

Mike Brown - would like to see him get more reps right now.

On Wegher, I really think he will make the roster due in part to the fact that we may only have to cut 35 and not 37 given that Kelvin will go to the IR and Presley will go to the PUP.  Of course, we may have to make room for a WR signed off waivers..., but I can see Wegher making the roster.   Our run game is too crucial this season given the scary thinness at WR.

Guys that had a good game - Cam, Olsen, Oline before Folkerts got hurt, RB's except for Stew. Dline except for lack of pass rush. LB's and Derek Anderson and special teams had a much better night

Guys I fret about - Rivera for leaving Folkerts in after he got hurt even though he had the Remmers/Williams combo he could have played.  Stewart, I am ready to move on from him.  His slow, hunting a hole, approach is just not suited for our Oline anymore, the quicker, hit the hole guys are far better suited for us and if it weren't for his monster contract, I would cut him.  Brown had some mental block last night and needed to relax but his route running is getting much better and having a receiver that can get open is exciting.

So only Newton and Smith?

You never watched Deshaun Foster? Biakabatuka? Stewart? DeAngelo Williams early in his career?

All the above could take it the distance at any moment.

They all had home run speed, ability to catch the ball, could make guys miss, and the kicked here: they all had productive games in the regular season in games that mattered.

I like Wegher too, but simmer down now.

Cam was 17/28 for 160 and a TD...

We had about 4 drops  to add to that and left at least one TD on the field.  He had a hell of a game. That percentage would have been 75% if those passes were caught

true true, at the very minimum if Corey catches that TD

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27
    • Your intelligence is artificial.
    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
