mike wilbon: cam is the most talented QB with the least amount of help since young john elway

Sean Payton's Vicodin

Cam's team is loaded, just on defense. I doubt he would trade his defense for offensive talent. Winning 17-6 is more fun than losing 38-35.

That comment is absurd, though. Elway played in 5 Super Bowls.

afc was poo in the 1980s and the broncos could sleepwalk their way through the playoffs back then. their biggest challenge was the browns. look at the amount of no names on their offense back then.

this is true...look at Russell wilson.  He won a Superbowl with a great defense, a decent running game and next to nothing on offense.  Stats are great but give me wins any day of the week.

he and the team will peak next year though i think and maintain the summit for a half decade

I remember in 08 after the Cardinals loss ... talk about doom and gloom this place was dark, we knew we weren't going anywhere for a long time after that and here we are about to be the next Patriots esque dynasty nearly EIGHT years later, wow, that is almost a decade.

I know the "next year" talk gets annoying but that's the 3rd year of DGs plan where we will have money to spend and outside of Norman, our upcoming FAs are quite expendable.  I think it will be the most opportune time to grab some real weapons.  Elway did end up with Davis, Smith, McCaffery and Co.  I'm staying optimistic and in the "just win baby"mindset.

    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
    • How do I activate said Krispy Kreme deal? I'm stoned man you can't be playing with me about this...
