Brandon Cooks injures ankle - questionable for Sunday

I have to admit that it feels damn good to be going into a game without having to worry if we win or not. Texans week was stressful because all the JJ Watt/Clowney talk and if our O line would hold up and also being worried about Mallett being the wild card.

I can't remember the last time I have been this confident about a victory.

Since you are so schizophrenic it doesn't really count, but this is one of the most jinxy statements ever.

iff we find a way to lose this game, this forum may implode

Yeah I understand why some are confident but I'm not overly confident. If Luke sits again Sunday (which seems likely) a good QB like Brees could take advantage of that.

The Saints OL hasn't looked good but neither has our pass rush. It'll be nice to get Star back but who knows how effective he'll be given he hasn't played since last season.

Our O has been slow to get started and the Saints are capable of putting points up. Like I mentioned before, this feels like Pittsburgh all over again from last year.  Every time I get my hopes up with this team they seem to bring em back down, I'm going in with caution this week.

I can name quite a few Saints fans who thought we might not pull out that Tampa game. It was the perfect set up. Team got smacked in the mouth and embarrassed the week before. Division game against a coach that plays a type of defense that Brees is known to struggle against.

I wasn't confident about the game at all. If I was betting, I would have put money on Tampa.

tldr

dude youre team is ass and you should feel **** ass .gif

With brees having trouble with the deep ball......they will dink and dunk. That kills us, but fortunatly only between the 20's. I feel we buckle down in the end zone. Not a gimmie game, it is division. I see a similar score to last week, without the scare at the end.

I know a lot of people say that the dink and dunk passes kill us but I just dont think thats true, I know during Ron's 1st couple of years that was the case but I dont think its been true the last season or so since we really started fielding an elite D. Is there a recent example of dink and dunk offenses killing us?

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
