Josh Norman ignored in ESPN article about Julio Jones

Note knocking Norman by any means because he's a great corner but it's funny how you all give him credit for stopping Julio when really it was you guys passrush(non existent this year) that had more to do with stopping Julio than Norman.

Matt could barely get any passes off in game one that we won and he couldn't get any off the last when you guys blew us out. The way the passrush is now I'm sure Julio will continue his tear.

Man, the disrespect is insane. This is only going to fuel and motivate Josh. If J-No does contain Jones again, then say goodbye to him. We won't be able to afford the man. He'll get paid Revis or Sherman money.

It's called the tag bro and we will use it.

It had more to do with him acting as if Jones has only been a monster for 3 games than anything else.  It's not a 3 game bandwagon.  Jones averaged 100 YPG 2 years in a row prior to this year, albeit 2013 was shortened by injury.

Besides, by discrediting Jones, you are also taking away from how much more impressive it was that Norman shut him down twice.  So in a way I'm still sticking up for Norman.

Regardless, I just flat out don't care if the media ignores Norman or not.  It's really not a big deal.

Last year nobody mentioned JJ as the definitive "best" WR in the league.  He played on a crappy team and his red zone production did not match his total yardage.  That equates to being relatively quiet in crunch time.  Fast forward to this year and he has had a great start to the season and ESPN is placing the "best WR in the league" label on him after 3 games.

I think Antonio Brown and others can lay claim to that right now but it is ESPN so who cares.

But that's not why I posted the article.

sadly you are wrong. The story won't be about Carolina at all. It will be about SEA and how far they've fallen since that play that lost them the SB. Put that in the bank bro. We'll be an afterthought

You're right. Even being undefeated and stomping Green Bay 40-0 would somehow still render us the worst undefeated team in the league as we would be the only undefeated team in the league.

I really think we as a fan base need to pump the brakes on Norman a little bit. He has played well no doubt, but he isn't an elite Revis level shutdown corner, he has just made some pretty clutch plays this year.

I hate to sound negative about him because I really like him and how he's played, I just think we're setting ourselves up for disappointment.

As a fan base, that ain't happening. He put it all together midseason last year and shut down every WR he faced. No one got over 100 yards on him and only Mike Evans managed 1 TD on him. That was a 13 yarder and his only catch of the day btw.

Being cautious dulls my enjoyment of the games. That's just existing, not living. Even when a loss happens, the pain of it confirms my existence because I chose to believe in something and have faith the team would win. If it was the last game of football ever played in history, I'd be more cautious than you are now. But there's always next game and next season. Dragging past disappoints into the present instead of letting them go weighs me down like a bag of bricks, so I choose to just let go of it and enjoy myself.

It's only a game and games are supposed to be fun. Hope to see you on the 16-0 party train

Oh he's a joy to watch, when he made that pick I screamed in my house it was awesome! I'm not such a "realist" that I don't thoroughly enjoy the games, just trying to save people from being super reactionary later on.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
