Trade for Sammy Watkins?

It'd be worth a first

Agree. If they would trade him straight up for a 1st it'd be well worth it. He was a top 5 pick (and has played well enough to warrant that pick) and our 1st will likely be in the 20s or later. But they aren't going to trade him for a 1st.

Watkins at this point is nothing but potential, while Norman (in spite of that oh-so-ironic-in-context Bills game a couple years ago) has single-handedly won us a couple games this year.

As one of Josh's biggest fans around here of course there's no way in hell I'd trade him for Watkins, but Watkins isn't just potential. He had a much more efficient rookie year last year than KB did. If Watkins had a real QB throwing to him he would dominate.

I miss PU threads....

but you guys seriously want a WR on this team that said "I don't care if any of my teammates are open, I need the ball thrown to me".

Let's just watch that train wreck instead of jumping on.

I think we have some experience on that front.

Buffalo invested WAY too much to cut sling load at this point! Would I like to see Sammy in a Panthers jersey, hell yes, but it's a pipe dream! Gman ain't even gonna entertain that idea cuz it'll cost at the very least a 1st round pick....

you wouldnt make the trade for a first round pick?

That'd be a terrible decision. Watkins is a proven commodity over the toss up of the draft, is, at 22 years old, younger than many draftees coming up, has a rookie contract, would immediately turn that unit into a strength in a year where the league is weak and improve our standing in that landscape

if all it took was a 1st and Gettleman DIDNT make that deal, the people of Charlotte would burn him at the stake.

This! I never understand the mindset of people wanting to hold on to 1st round picks for dear life. Sammie is a proven NFL pro that is what, like only 24 years old? Why wouldn't you trade a 1st round pick? And hell at our rate, it would be a late 1st round pick anyway. We aren't getting a top 5 or even top 15 pick likely
