Trap game

If/when this team loses, it won't be because they overlooked anyone. They are capable of playing poorly (any team can have a bad day), but with the leadership on the coaching staff and in the locker room, this team will be focused on their next opponent.

That being said, I believe this week is the week that they show the nation that they can turn the lights out on a team.

Theyll take it one play at a time though; as they should.

why do you think the colts should be good? this feels like regression to the mean for a flawed team disguised by a shitty, shitty division and occasional hero ball from ty hilton and andrew luck

Look I hate the Colts, and am not going to pretend to know about them, because I don't.

All I do know is that the have finished 11-5 for the last three seasons in a row (which is hard for any team to do). And last year the made it to the AFC Championship game by beating the Broncos and Bengels (both good teams last year).  Not to mention, they supposedly added a "bunch of weapons" in the offseason if I recall correctly.

Whos to say the Colts aren't in a 1st half of a season funk?  Look at how the Seahawks started last year, 3-3, went on to the Super Bowl and lost by a last second interception on the goal line.

3x 11-5 winning seasons, coming off a strong play off push to the AFC Championship game...I don't know, not sure I am comfortable just writing this team off and giving us the automatic W on Monday like many posts I read on the Huddle...

Yep, it's the thread everybody loves to hate.

But I woke up this morning and this was on my mind. Too much going "wrong" with Colts. And Panthers are on a "hot streak".

Colts should be a good team this year, and they haven't performed.

I was a little irked by the fact that the guys were celebrating in the locker room after the Eagles victory.  I liked the somber Panthers attitude they had with mild celebrating after the Seahawks game.

Am I wrong?  God I hope so, but something just doesn't feel right to me about this matchup.

Ohh, and I am attending the game, which is the first game for me this season.  We are 6-0 when I watch the game from the couch.

This team won't take anybody lightly. You can tell from interviews with the guys that they heard the lack of respect and use it for motivation.

That disrespect didn't start this year, it been a common refrain anytime the Panthers have had success. Remember last year we were the "worst playoff team of all time".

Ron has this team on a mission. Cam, Davis, Keuchly, Olsen, and other leaders on the team remember, and they won't overlook any team.

If/when we finally lose it will be to a team that just played a better game. Nothing more, nothing less.

    • I am trying to remember when I EVER said reach for need. My thing if someone falls you jump, if you can trade back a few slots and get help at the right value and pick up some ammo to move up from 51 which I think is outside the money zone, then you do that.   Take a WR later. Plenty of capable WRs have come from the 3rd round. Though this year I would go for C there if there was a reasonable choice. Take a TE if you must. I see more reason to take WR than TE. I think you give guys drafted two years ago and last year a chance to develop before cancelling them.    I think it is kind of unrealistic to throw everything all in on offense in hopes of going deep in the playoffs after an 8-10 year, even if it did have some nice bright spots in it.    And outside of this argument but relevant to it, I am bothered by Canales and Morgan and their apparent posture that we have arrived and are now in the big boy club. I don’t know where that comes from. They are out there talking like they are winners at 8-10. Backing into the playoffs in a real convoluted tie breaker scenario. They had some good games, yes. But the big feather n the cap, the LA Rams matchups, did you see what the Rams did? They didn’t fire the coaches but they fired their defensive backs. Bryce beat them yes, and it was pretty, but it was kind of like the Bucs and Mike Evans picking on our decimated secondary in 2022. Someone (Wilks) went down for allowing that to happen and they went down in LA too.  Wr aren’t as good as a whole lot of homers think we are. Shore up the trenches.    I think too many fans buy into it because they are so starved for anything that looks like a winner.
    • How exactly does one win OROY "by default"? Wouldn't winning the award mean that of the two, McMillon stayed strong the entire year while the other guy didn't and fizzled out? That's like saying Secretariat only won by default because the other horse stopped moving midway through the race. Absolutely zero logic in that statement, which makes me very glad that I've never really paid much attention to Walterfoozball.
    • I agree, teams in the past have fired the HC in order to retain a coach on staff...hell it happened to Mcderp this year, rams in the past and Im missing another.  The fall off for the Panthers team defense was huge once Mcderp leftd and Ron could not fix it even when he named himself DC.
