They talked to Kurt Coleman about his pick.

He actually sounded confused about why the receiver didn't go after the ball harder.

Coach called him out on in as well in his press conference, said that the throw wasn't a throw away and it was to DGB and he didn't run his route hard and the DB did.

Is having a season on par with our 2nd round pick. In fact they're pretty similar in a lot of areas

I get this is supposed to be a homer rah rah thread but its kind of embarrassing as a whole in how contradictory it is to the "HES A ROOKIE" posts that skyrocket from the same contingent of the board whenever Funchess has missed an opportunity

Exactly this. Not every rookie WR is a OBJ, KB, Evans, Cooper. WR is the hardest position to transfer from college to pro and this guy wasn't even allowed to play in that league. Give this time to grow before making threads like this. Heck, just last season we saw our own KB stop running on slant routes that caused INTs. These things happen.

I think the point of this thread isn't to say he's not great, but eat a bit of crow regarding their thoughts on taking him. It's not the fact that him and Funchess have similar stats. It's moreso the fact many thought he DGB would be an immediate #1 type guy and would look like Randy Moss right out of college. So they're glad to be proven wrong that he didn't immediately come out and ball out like last years unicorn rookie WR class.

I for one am glad we didn't take him mainly due to the fact that he has the potential to be a headcase.

Funchess was dropping passes left and right before the last 2 weeks and now this thread pops up trying to make a point? First off i would never put to much stock into a rookie throwing to another rookie. Its rare some type of dominant force is established for first year players.  Second, the titans are a mess and coaching plays a big part in developing a player. Put DGB on a team with a great coaching staff like ours or the Cardinals , Patriots and you might see better results for a rookie. Proehl working with him could cook up something good. Point to me the veteran leadership on the Titans? Third, its way to early to say he wont be a great player, Titans definitely have pieces to work with, just need direction and the right coaches. Never thought DGB would come in and be a top receiver and dont know what he did this game to say he would have been a terrible pick. Dont see a point made half way thru the season.

Sheesh........Everyone should start making threads everytime they think they were right about something in the past so we can have more inflated egos around here.

I don't really disagree with your point, but giving 100% effort should be table stakes for being an NFL player. If Coleman caught it, DGB sure could have as well, and effort issues are often wholly different than issues stemming from things like technique or general growing pains.

That said, it is too early to make a definitive judgment.
