Frank Alexander - Suspended for 1 year

The NFL really should stop testing for it. They already know that the majority of players smoke weed and they don't care. It becomes less about who does it, and more about whose smart enough to cheat the drug tests and whose not. And hell, they test for it in a way where they try NOT to catch people.

They only test at all as a PR measure, so they can pretend to be against it, but anyone with half a brain knows their official stance on it is complete BS. Pretty bad reason to ruin someones career just so you can give a fake "the NFL has no tolerance for weed!" speech that everyone knows is a total lie anyway. Just all around stupid system.

Looks like they came after the panthers for testing this week.. Mainly the guys on IR...

Seriosuly NFL? We have rampant PED use across major teams (RoidHawks) and they bust guys who just had surgery for a joint??? Yet we see Greg Hardy in 2 days..?

Ok Goodell..Great job of leadership.

I know Frank will get major flack from some of the guys that treat football players like Video Game players. But this is just dumb.

Neat how you can do all sorts of terrible things, cheat, beat women, but smoke some weed and get ready for the hammer.

This is a terrible comparison. The first infraction for drugs is like 1 or 2 games then its like 4 games and then a full year. Very reasonable. Ray Rice and Hardy were removed for a year and then suspended on top of that after their first offense for domestic violence. Ray Rice is still blacklisted from finding another job. The punishment is about right for both of them.

Coples was signed by the Dolphins, so that's not happening. But, I don't want to hear any lame excuses defending him. He's lied to everyone and how focused he is. Third offense. Third freaking offense. He knew he was gonna get tested and he continued. Gave a nice con-artist article to the Observer about "trading pot for playstation" less than 6 months ago. Save your pro-marijuana arguments, because no one is saying it has heroin-like effects on your body.  But I am saying that if you get paid millions to play the sport many dream of playing for a living, getting high shouldn't be worth risking the life you can provide your loved ones.
