Adding insult to injury

Several of us have an annoying Cowboy fan in our life. Maybe as a friend, relative, co-worker, boss, significant other (shudder) or something else.

For those to whom this applies, Thursday offered a little bonus.

So if this is you, three questions:

Who are they in your life?

How annoying are they?

And what did you do to make their pain and suffering from Thursday's blowout even worse?

I live in San Antonio and am surrounded by Cowboy and Houston fans... All last week I wore all my panthers gear to work each and every day and one of my good friends in particular kept saying how Dez was going to throw up the X on us and how Hardy was going to get all these sacks on Cam..well I text him during the game

I grew up near Dallas.  My family and childhood friends are all Cowboys fans.  Honestly, I didn't do much because I remember us being 3-7 last year.  I feel pity for them because we have a good owner, GM, coaching staff. Look at what they get.  There problems are a lot bigger than Tony Romo playing or not.

He is a coworker. I work directly with him. So I have been told all last week how bad my week would be if we lost. He text me himself before the second half saying Romo was killing his team and that we still sucked. I haven't done anything but post about it since I haven't been back to work yet. But Monday......is gonna be great.

True Story--My son and I were moving into his room at UNC, where names of his suite mates were posted on each door.  We were organizing his things, and a male student entered the room to introduce himself; he had a very disturbed, concerned look on his face.  After exchanging formalities, he took my soon to his room where he pointed to the name on the door that was to share a room with him.  The roommate had already moved in, but he had not met him yet.   He looked at my son and said, "How would you pronounce this?"  The name on the door was A-N-A-S (we later learned that he was of middle-eastern descent).  My son said, "Dang.  We all wonder if our roommate is going to be an asshole, but your roommate is actually named "Asshole."

It gets better.

His new friend said, "you have not seen the worst part yet."  He opened the door and he had a giant Tony Romo poster on the wall and a Dallas Cowboy comforter on the bed.

The moral of this story?  I think you have figured it out by now.

I swear, this entire story is true.  (Anas--pronounced uh NAS) turned out to be a pretty decent guy who was rather obnoxious about the Cowboys.  He texted my son after the NY Giants game in Dallas this year, a game he attended---The same game the Giants blew with terrible clock management--"Cowboys win.  Super Bowl 50 bound!"

My most annoying boss is a die hard cowboys fan who thought for sure they would win. He is not a nice person and just very grumpy all the time and yelling at everyone. Well we both worked like 13 hours yesterday and were stressed out over black friday stuff but every time I saw him I said something like "how abought that game" or "hoe about those cowboys" he was getting so mad and it felt so good

    • First of all the out was not caught because XL slipped and was the only person who could have caught that ball.  I'm not sure where you get that it was almost intercepted but go ahead and believe your story. The kick was in the direction we wanted the ball from the opening kickoff.  Do you think Fitzpatrick didn't try several kicks in that direction before the game and after half?  Do you think we just winged it.  Come on, OK so he missed one earlier.  Kickers can't adjust.  You make it sound like it was a wing and a pray. I saw the game.  Yes and we still got 21 yard from the running game.  We also got two first downs via that pass.  So it isn't like it was 100% we were going to run.   You have your blinders on and hate BY so much that you can't give him any credit because it defeats your narrative that he completely sucks.   What I have yet to here is you 100% for sure solution.  Which QB are you going to bring in that GUARANTEES that he'll be better than BY.  See the difference between you and me is I understand that he isn't the greatest QB to play the game.   But he has strengths and he continues to win whether you like it or not.  You and I have been on this forum for many years and agreed and disagreed on many topics.  I don't think I have ever seen you so filled with so much hatred for a player than BY.   I'm just going to leave it here to agree to disagree because you aren't going to change my outlook and I definitely am not going to change yours.  I do appreciate no personal attacks.  Someone said it earlier.  Ride with our game manager until a Mahomes falls into our laps.
    • It's not the only issue. She said it was the "biggest" issue. lol
    • The key difference being expectation. Jake was basically an afterthought of a free agent signing. Bryce is a guy we mortgaged the franchise on to be THE GUY. Not to mention a different era of football before all the rule changes to benefit the passing game. I don't care how we win either. I just realize that the odds of continuing to win in today's NFL with this level of QB play are very low. If I knew for sure that the Panthers had already decided to pursue other options at QB this off-season I could breathe a sigh of relief but of course they're not going to say that publicly.
